In September I wrote to Liteoptec as follows: "In July 2020 in purchased an UltraTech Nightingale Rechargeable AC/DC LED Camping Emergency Lantern from Cape Union Mart in Herm****. This was only used occasionally during load-shedding. I kept the item charged and it worked well until it suddenly stopped working. Of course, the Cape Union Mart don’t guarantee the item for longer than a year. I am very disappointed. Surely your emergency lamp should last longer than a year. The item is in immaculate condition, I still have its original box and bubble wrap. Please advise me on the way forward." They have not bothered to respond at all. Not even an acknowledgement of my email.
On Monday afternoon on 3 May 2021 I noticed that the contents of our Defy freezer were defrosting. I immediately contacted Defy and described the situation as VERY URGENT as I had expensive food about to be spoiled in the freezer. The appliance was still under warrantee. I was given a job number (1456133) and was told that the local agent would contact me soon. I was eventually contacted by the agent in Herm**** (where I live), two days later. Meanwhile, I went and purchased an extra freezer (not Defy!) and transferred most of the food to that freezer. The service from Defy was deplorable! The fact that they took over 48 hours to request their agent to call in inexcusable. (He showed me the sms he received with time and date). IDefy dows not know the meaning of "service"!
