5 star service by David and Team! Thank you very much. Extremely great attitude. Will definitely use Red Trucks and Davids team again. All the best
Unfortunately I made the mistake of booking at this lodge for my wife’s birthday, from 22 to 24 Sep 2019.We reached the resort at 6.00am with an unfriendly welcome. We were there for a game drive and not too check in as they assumed. The game drive was 1hour 45minutes not 2.5 hours as communicated. At the breakfast table we had to ask for service for coffee etc. with a blatant disregard for myself and my wife seated. Tables adjacent to us were served and eventually we had to ask for assistance. Then the unit was susceptible to noise from adjacent rooms. Yes, they did move us to another unit but had no ventilation without opening a window. Unorganized booking. They had our event dates incorrect. No reminders of events booked. We subsequently missed our elephant experience. Yes, we eventually looked back on email trail and found a confirmation which wasn’t aligned to the front desk. There was no reminder at check in or check out which is standard service at all other hotels we stayed at. I had to call in several times to initiate a resolution. Again sub standard attitude from the reservation manager Pat. An “investigation” took 2 weeks. There’s evidently an attitude issue within this organization that’s undesirable in the hospitality industry which should be addressed. It was a good amount of money spent and every guest should feel equal and welcome. Upon asking for a refund only for the elephant experience that we missed out on. The offering from the GM Dave Atherstone was a “token of goodwill” where we would effectively be paying 50% toward our next stay and 50% of Elephant experience that we full paid for previously and the cost of driving through. Laughable. Claimed 4 star lodge with 1/2 star service. Rather seek alternative accommodation at Pilanesberg/ Nambiti/ Dinokeng etc.
Thank you to Dotsure pet insurance and Lezanne Grobler on the great service received on signing up my 2. I look forward to a similar standard of existing customer experience.

I see their hasn't been an official response to my issue but issues after mine where responded to. Disgusting.

On the 5 August 8pm I watched the premier of Suicide Squad at IMAX 3D at Eastgate Ster Kinekor. I really enjoyed the experience at Eastgate. Sound, lighting... Awesome. Eastgate movies in general always a good experience irrespective of 2D 3D or IMAX.

but...

On the 6th August 11.45am with Suicide Squad fresh in my mind i decided to watch it again. Against my better judgement i went to Southgate Mall to watch it in 3D because that Ster Kinekor is the closest for me. I stay in Johannesburg South. I watch all my movies at Ster Kinekor since the experience is usually quality and value for money. On this case unfortunately... firstly, i missed the first 12 to 15 minutes due to standing in that refreshment queue for around 25 minutes. Then finally getting to the movie, the screen lighting was dark. It was difficult to make out certain parts of the movie. I watched it the previous day so i knew what i should be seeing. For those who watched it for the first time I sympathise because Southgate ruined the premier for them whether they realise it or not.

I am disappointed. It was a waste of money and won't be watching a movie there again. Do not say that you can't compare IMAX and normal 3D. I've watched several 3D movies at other Ster Kinekor cinemas. Southgate 3D quality is definitely not up to standard.

I contacted the manager at the cinema. To my irritation she was clueless. She said you can't compare IMAX and normal 3D. Nonetheless, all she did was apologise. I expect some compensation for this. R72 for a below standard quality isn't acceptable.
