I hired a car from The Randburg office today, 10/3/2025, it was booked via Discovery on their travel platform. Firstly, the address of 126A Braam Rischer Drive, as per your website, is grossly incorrect and I had to catch an Uber to get to the correct place on Malibongwe Drive, that cost me extra. Secondly, I am in my 60s, I got my drivers license in Zimbabwe, I have a code 10 automatically and you people ***** me by charging me an extra R100 because of this code 10.......I take exception to being classified as a risk on the road because of this. Thirdly, the car was booked for 8.30am, it was delivered at 9.30am, and resulted in all my appointments running somewhat later than they should have. I will lodge a complaint through Discovery Travel as well and certainly will think twice before giving Europcar / Tempest any business in the future. Not a pleasant experience at all.
On 6th September 2024 I paid an amount of almost R40000 to Mr Anton Smit of ACS Projects to install a clearview fence and gate on my property. He sent Ruan to start the work and the first day they dug some holes, then they came and put up 6 posts and about a week later, another 6. Then started the excuses.......long and the short of it, Mr. Smit has taken my money. He promised it was a one-off mistake due to circumstance and he would refund me, but he didn't. I would not recommend him at all because apart from being dishonest, the quality of his workmanship is shocking.
Helpful, efficient, always great to deal with
Please think carefully before using them, they are extremely slow, use the cheapest of cheap materials and sub-contractors, do not supervise or check work and leave houses standing incomplete for months without working on them resulting in water damage. Not recommended.
We recently purchased 2 barn doors for a new home and were told they would be delivered within 3 working days and that the courier would phone me on the day of delivery. 4 days later and having heard nothing I contacted the call centre and was told the doors had been collected by the courier 2 days earlier but there was confusion with the delivery address. I don't understand this as the correct address was on the invoice and they have my contact no, so no excuses accepted. The call centre agent was advised that the doors were needed urgently as the carpenter was on site waiting for them. I then had to call again the following day and was told they will email the courier and call me back. Three phone calls later and no one can tell me where the doors are, I can't phone the courier because apparently, they don't have a phone no and all communication is done via email. This is an unacceptable situation, and I will avoid Leroy at all costs in the future because they have proven that they do not understand what customer service is all about. I'm just hoping that my barn doors haven't been ****** or delivered elsewhere.
