have been giving this company positive reviews but I cannot carry on with their lies. A law firm dealing with ABSA contacted me (last week) requesting My Debt Hero to give this lawyer a call regarding the account which was terminated by ABSA. The lawyer stated that there is a possibility for this law firm to reinstate the account under debt review, BUT, My Debt Hero has to contact her. I gave her details to My Debt Hero. Being told by them the message has been sent to the department dealing with this. I received a message on Friday, once again telling me the account has been terminated by ABSA. Today Lynette (from the lawyers) called me again stating the fact that My Debt Hero has NOT made any contact with her. I understand that I have to organise a repayment plan for this account, which I have done. But WHY are you not telling the truth regarding the contact you are supposed to make with the law firm? Is it THAT difficult? I expect you to do what I have paid you for 3 months to do. Dont call me again with the same BS. If you are not going to contact Lynette I am really now at the verge of reporting you to the NCR. Please do something. This is not how I thought a debt counsellor will do 'business'.

My Debt Hero has helped me tremendously. They are always helpful and friendly when fealing with them.
I sent Isabella Garcia a message and called them, August and September, to cancel my subscription. I was promised that they will call me to cancel...I have been waiting for more than a month and am sure they will deduct a new installment for the products I did not ask for this month. This is nót how you do business, it is unacceptable.
I am not happy with the service I have received since May 2025. Due to the fact that My Debt Hero can't do the job they promised to do I now have two accounts terminated by ABSA. I have paid you for 3 months now, I cannot see how Fees is over R30 000. Who did you pay with my August installment, or am I going to receive more terminations from other creditors, I have been sending messages regarding ABSA for weeks now, and nothing has been done. You promise you have sent ABSA the documents for debt review and they state they have received nothing. I have been calling ABSA and sending them emails as well. The debt review process/system fails the client. What are YOU going to do about this. ABSA states that I have defaulted on the repayment plan as agreed by My Debt Hero and ABSA. What have I been paying you for? What am I supposed to do, or find money to pay them on top of the debt review installments? I am a very UNHAPPY client. And this is not my first complaint to you. Do you really care for your clients or are you just after our money and then you sit back and do nothing else? I was also told that I would receive a call on Wednesday. I did not receive any call.
I dont know wheter I should give a positive or negative rating. I am at the beginning of the debt review process. One of my creditors have been hounding me and now threatenibng me with legal action. I have sent several emails requesting you to sort this out. But every time I am told there is (at first) a 7 day responce time from the creditors and eventually a 7 - 15 day response time. According to my calculations by the 9th July there was no response from ABSA. ABSA starts sending sms's and making phone calls. They state they have not received the needed documents, On 31 July I was told that these documents have been sent to them again, on 5 August I was told these documents have been sent to them again, Today I receive a final 'threat' from ABSA (which was date 31 July) that legal action will be taken. This after 116 calls in a 4 day period. Who is not doing their job? Mydebthero or ABSA? Why cant somebody pick up their phone and find out why ABSA is not responding, Or is this another money making scheme? Or should I lay a complaint at the NCR reporting both ABSA and mydebthero? I really dont know what to do anymore? I am sick and tired of emails giving me the '7-15 days response' BS. Please DO something! Thats what you have been paid for these past 2 months.
I'm confused. In January I went to the dentist. Everything was paid. In March/April I receive an email stating they paid the dentist from the hospital plan and not my savings. They will deduct it from my savings (which unfortuantely was depleted by that time). Now, checking the data for my tax return it shows that it was paid from my savings, which it was not as I am now paying my dentist monthly installments since it WAS NOT paid by discovery. Can you make uo your mind? We pay a lot to have just the basic medical cover and then you do whatever you want. It is nr 1 NOT on to pay the consultation and 2 - 3 months later you inform a patient 'oh sorry, we paid it from your hospital benefit'. Who is in the wrong here? Were the people working with claims still hungover on the 4th of January? If you think you actually did pay the consultation make contact with the dentist. It's not what I am paying for, and I also dont get paid to do your job.
Thank you to Carmen, as well as She-Earl, at Debt Hero who has been very helpful and patient during the starting process of debt review. It makes life a bit calmer when you have people that support and help you during a stressful time. Thank you
I was very happy with the company as they told me they will be able to help me, and transfer my files from another debt councillor. This was now over 2 months ago. I am still waiting. The transfer of my files was done after I had to pay the previous councillor R9600. Wednesday I called them, Thursday they sent the files. Before then I had to send the other councillor endless emails, call etc. something I am sure debt hero gets paid for. Now back to square one, I have to call the councillor to accept the transfer. In the meantime the debit order of R10500 has been deducted from my account leaving me to still pay my vehicle finance (which is part of the debt review). This leaves me with no money. That money I had to pay for my car is part of the money left over after all my medical, insurance etc is paid. Now I dont have it. I feel it is very unfair to deduct the money when I am being told time and again to call or email the other company. I am paying you but I did the work, still am. Worst part is you know I cant move over to anybody else. You have all these great reviews, you made all these promises. But I feel defeated at the moment. Does it really take more than 2 months to transfer a file. You told me they will be reported to the NCR, but nothing has been done. Please help me! I'm really disappointed.
My Debt Hero has gone out of their way trying to assist me, especially in trying to get my file transferred from another company who keeps declining to do so. They have been patient with me and all my questions and also supporive, especially She-Earl. Thank you
