On Monday 20 October 2025 I phoned Volvo Umhlanga to book my car, a Volvo XC90 2006 model, in for a complete check up. I spoke to the workshop manager, Josh, and was asked where my car had been serviced. I explained that I had bought it in Pietermaritzburg and had had it serviced locally, in Kokstad, as Pmb was closed and this is where I live. I was told that because I had not had it serviced by them, that they would not accept the vehicle in, or do any work on it. This I find very strange as, realistically, they could have done minimal work on it and charged me a fortune - I would simply have paid it. I find it unacceptable that a corporate company would 'hold a gun to my head' with regards to working on my vehicle. I have made another plan with regards to this matter, or make use of Volvo.

On the 12/07/2016 I paid TNT customs and taxes for stock I imported into South Africa. Unbeknown to me as I am new to the import business, I was charged too much. What they did was charge me customs and taxes on an amount of $2050 which was the total amount of $1100 for the actual stock plus$950 for courier charges. What they should have charged me customs and taxes on was the $1100 for stock.

I found out on the 22/07/16 that this was the case. I had paid over a total amount of R15 445.08 for customs and taxes and I should have actually paid approximately R8000.00. From that day, to date, I have continually made contact with TNT - through Facebook, email and their"customer care" line to no avail. On the 12/8/16 I received an email from a lady stating that the matter had been sent to someone in the Clearance Department (I have his name) and that a refund would be arranged. On the 16/8/16 I received a phonecall from the lady who had emailed me and she assured me I would receive my refund. I then, once again, sent her all my invoices and relevant paperwork, including my bank details. It is now the 22/8/16 and still I have not received my refund. I find this atrocious service from any company, let alone a large company such as TNT. How do I go about getting my refund if it is apparent that no one is prepared to get this seen to?
