Till today NO response from Telkom. Their incompetence has reached new heights. In store 18th May 2021 - I took out, canceled and returned a contract devise the same day (unoppende) within the hour and they claim that the cooling off period does not apply when applying in store. I canceled because they lied to me about the bundle offer. I then received an invoice of R22248.00 on the 5th Jun and disputed this on the 6th June as they claimed the process was not completed in-store that device was returned, debit order went off on 26th June 2021. And I got no assistance to date. I never approved this illegal debit order. It is in dispute and all they need to do is update the system that I returned the device (signed memorandum). BUT out of 9 people that I have been passed around to since the start the matter is still not resolved. 22 days after logging the first case 58116533, it dragged on then was closed the 10th June, just to be reopened on the 12th Jun 58225332 to submit the memorandum on receipt of device. Endless visits to the branch, calls to their head office, emails without response and no resolve! Still the debit was done.
Telkom Mall@Reds – Contract for less than an Hour and left with a penalty invoice of R 22,248.00. For number 0815188711 Sales Trainee: Batekane & Manager: Sibongile On the 18 May, I took a Mobile contract with Telkom and within an hour of this contract (sim & phone unopened / returned) as they lied to me about the bundle offer. How in good faith can I believe the service provided if I cannot even get what is owed to me. The trainee Batekane that assisted me, only after the deal was finalized, he made it sound that the phone bundle was not included (i.e. wireless charger and earphones) and wanted to do me a favor for my long wait and give me the headphones and the charger as a courtesy, but had no stock. I asked many times if he could rather help me to get a charger but he was reluctant. (Huawei Mate 40 Pro (Bundle offer of R4197). Pamphlet in store (I have the pamphlet still) and the tv add that runs in store shows the bundle offer inclusive). A little unhappy I left it there and went to MTN to get my current number moved to a prepaid and just out of curiosity asked the sales person about the charger situation. She assured me that the Huawei Mate 40 Pro comes as a sealed unit and has the bundle offer as a tamper free sealed unit and saw this with my own eyes. Would this suggest that there is theft in the Telkom store and how many other people were lied to like me! In my opinion it is all very suspicious. Anyway, I went back to Telkom and queried the issue and after a long wait he came to tell me that they are trying to get a charger. Why now all of a sudden. I asked him why I first had to come in and fight for what is mine. No that it was unacceptable and I no longer want the contract and to please cancel it. From there only until I finally managed to speak to the manager there Sibongile and having explained the matter which Batekane never explained to her (Also very unprofessionally telling me that he will get a warning if I cancel the contract) then she said she understood and the he never explained the matter to her fully and clearly a miscommunication matter and that it is good I came and spoke to her directly. She assured me the way things were handled was not the way they do business, which I was very happy to hear and just wanted the matter resolved. She also mentioned that she has escalated the matter with HO and was waiting on feedback, but that she will make sure I am not charged or penalized for the cancelation. I asked if I should have anything in writing and she once more assured me that she will take care of the matter and I should not worry. Here we are on the 5th of June and I have an invoice of R 22,248.00 on cancelation charges. Silly me for believing that the matter would be resolved without issue. It is my right to cancel. In terms of National Credit Act No. 34 of 2005 (NCA), a Cooling-off period is the right to cancel or rescind an Agreement without having to provide reasons. If a Party to an Agreement makes use of this right, he/she does not commit breach of the Agreement. This right affords a Party the freedom to either cancel the Agreement or right to return goods within a certain time period without fear of suffering any legal consequences arising from the Agreement. Conclusion As mentioned above, the Consumer is afforded five (5) business days (excluding weekends and public holidays) after he/she signs an Agreement in order to back out of the Agreement. Surely does a R22,248 invoice really justify what Telkom is doing???? The contract was less than an hour old!!! I mean seriously, this is beyond ridiculous to say the least!!!! R100 or R200, fine I could even swallow that, BUT R22,248.00 Seriously!!! Subscription & usage for 0815188711 R 22,248.00 What they are charging me: Subscription services Deal Discount Wireless Activation Fee 18 May 21 -R 102.75 Notification Fee 18 May 21 R 189.00 Termination Penalty 18 May 21 R 21,960.00 Wireless Activation Fee 18 May 21 R 201.75 Subtotal R 22,248.00 Total (Charges for May 2021) R 22,248.00 Telkom is a rip off!!!! I love Wierdabrug Animal Hospital, Dr Adele and her team is absolutely amazing. Best care for my dog and very reasonable prices. Never been happier with a Vet!
I took the promotion challenge on the 10th Jun already and Outsurance would not beat my current premium, I was told I qualify for the R1500.00. I sent them all the required info and still I cannot get them to call me back. I have called and emailed but I get no assistance.
