Pathetic, particularly a specific property manager of theirs.
I rented a property which was managed by Residential Letting agents for two years and never really had any issues with them, due to the property being in a fairly decent state and not requiring any assistance from them. HOWEVER, after giving the necessary 30 days notice to terminate the lease, then it all started. First off, I cannot understand how a property management company will not put their mobile numbers on their website or email signatures and secondly, especially considering they have not been working at an office with someone answering their work related calls - How is someone meant to get hold of you!? After several emails and lots of working around to get the numbers of the two main people involved, we finally found them a new tenant (after showing the property to a number of people) and managed to vacate after a very unprofessional sprout of dealings with their company. As the electricity is billed in arrears, we had to wait over a month for the final electricity bill to be deducted from my deposit. I sent numerous emails asking Mark Bester for a statement of the deposit to be refunded and simply, received no response. When I started messaging Mark directly on whatsapp, he became defensive, arrogant, and totally obnoxious and in his own words, said "STOP HARASSING ME". I immediately called him and was answered by a highly aggressive Mark who explicitly advised that I am not his priority and he doesn't need to update me as to when my deposit will be paid. Further to this, when I said that I had emailed him numerous times and never received a response, I was told that I am a "Blady Liar" and I am talking absolute **** according to Mark. I offered to send him a screenshot of all the unanswered emails, which totaled around 7 or 8 emails but was told that apparently I am a liar. When I noted that he is being highly unprofessional and I couldnt actually believe how he was representing his company, I was answered with: "May I do anything else for you Sir, Yes Boss, Yes Sure, anything else Boss?" which was not only disrespectful but highly antagonizing from a grown man. I said to him that I just want an answer as to when my deposit will be refunded and said I do not understand what I have to do to get my money back from him. I have now received my full deposit back but Residential Letting have left a very sour taste in my mouth and as an owner of several properties myself, I cannot believe the disgusting behaviour and disregard for professionalism that this company has provided. I sincerely hope that other landlords and agents see this review as I would hate for them to have to deal with a disgusting, disrespectful, and downright rude individual such as Mark Bester from Residential Letting, Cape Town.
<p>Disappointing service and customer relations at your Havaianas store at La Lucia Mall in Durban. I received a pair of Havaianas slops as a gift which I went to go and exchange for a different pair/colour firstly to be told that I could in fact exchange them for any style. The sales representative named SIBAHLE then called her manager (Every 5 mins) as she did not seem to know the store policies at all and clearly has no idea about the CPA - Consumer Protection Act with regards to exchange policies et. SIBAHLE then advised that I could exchange them but only for the same style and colour which is not what I wanted and why I went there in the first place. I decided to bear with her and take the same style but requested a receipt slip (In case they broke and to make use of the 6 month guarantee) which she then refused to give me, CLEARLY in contravention of the CPA! When I questioned as to why she would not give me a slip, I became increasingly frustrated and so she started to raise her voice at me saying she "doesn't know why she decided to come to work today" and then also proceeded to become very emotional in a very crowded and busy store! Myself, friends, and family member have changed Havaianas slops in the past with no hassle, so I'm not quite sure why I was denied a receipt now? Whether the slops were bought by myself or someone else, they were still attached and had the barcode on which should allow me to have my receipt given. Havaianas - Not impressed with how your staff at firstly trained, and secondly how they deal with customers.. Suggest someone picks their service game up. #RantOver</p>
