Bought a mint-condition (but secondhand) Titan Sports bicycle 24 April 2022 (bank statements to prove). The frame carries a 5-year warranty. On 18 July 2025 I dropped the bike off with a cracked frame (seat post). Jarrod said because it was bought 2nd hand from Linden Cycle I could not claim, unless the previous owner gave me the original invoice (no chance of that because Linden should have kept that record). Horrible attitude, no apology, no thank you for purchasing 10 bicycles from them over 30-years.
SIM SWAP SCAM: on Thursday 12 May, I received an upgrade in Hydepark (Salesman Irfaan, Branch Manager Tumi). Irfaan said he had to increase my credit limit to R20,000 for this upgrade to be accepted, and that should expect a request from one of my Apps. The next day “MTN” phoned to warn me that Mr Van Heerden was going to receive my number (SIM Swap) and to stop it they required the OTP. He sent me an OTP to reverse the "alleged sim swop" which I read to him. When the call ended I received a sms that my spending limit was increased to R17,978. I went onto my MTN app and called MTN call center immediately (took about 30-mins to get through because calls were dropped 6 times). When the call was ended I checked my app and saw that the scammer bought 670G worth's data. But why would someone scam me by buying 670G data and leave the data in my account? Why can't MTN reverse the transaction immediately? I’ve given 25-years of unbroken business to MTN, and can’t receive a call back from them. Visited Tumi (Branch Manager) at the Sandton branch to explain everything—she was relaxed about my entire story explaining I’m lucky the 670G is in my account! A close friend of mine Peter G was scammed exactly the same way, also the day after visiting an MTN branch.
