In September 2022 I purchased a brand new VW T-ROC 1.4 TSI from VW Hatfield in Bryanston. It was not pre-owned but new. The experience in purchasing the vehicle was excellent and the sales and finance team were very helpful. Within 2 weeks of my purchase my brakes started squeaking. This was a continuous, high pitched noise when driving at slow speeds and braking ongoing in heavy traffic or parking as an example. I made contact with the dealership who said there is probably dust on the break pads and I must book my vehicle in and they will sort it out…. Fast forward 2 years, my vehicle has been in 7 times for the same problem with the dealership keeping it for a week in October 2024 because they wanted to really test everything possible to make the noise go away. They drove with me in the car to experience what I was hearing daily. Over the last 2 years, brake pads were changed multiple times as well as the brake discs and I was assured recently that the problem was resolved. Needless to say, after driving the car for a day post the October 2024 intervention, the exact same problem was back. It might sound trivial but when you drive the vehicle daily and everywhere you go the brakes keep making a high pitched noise, trust me, it gets very irritating. The dealer principal called me to advise he has looked into the matter and there is nothing more that can be done from a mechanical point of view and I just need to accept this and by the way…”your vehicle is safe”. I turned to VW South Africa who after 2 weeks also gave me the same answer….well that’s just great. You don’t have to be smart to realize that this is clearly some type of factory default on the vehicle. If 7 interventions and multiple fixes haven’t resolved the problem then what does a customer do?? All that has been done at the end of this is leave the problem in my hands. I have been very patient through this entire process but surely there must be recourse available to me… If I ran my business this way and treated my clients like this I would very soon be out of business. Suggestions and recommendations are welcome!

Over the past month I have contacted Damp King 3-4 times to request paint for the interior of my home as the paint delivered in Nov 2016 did not match the colour. Further to this I also requested Damp King to visit my home and fix work done 18 months ago which should be under guarantee. I have had no response to my queries other than that someone will come back to me every time I call.

Really poor service. I would not recommend Damp King to anyone.
