If I could leave 0 stars, I would do it. On the 30 August I purchased R100 prepaid airtime using my bank account. R1000 was deducted from my bank account. I immediately contacted my bank who told me to contact Telkom. I contacted Telkom via the call centre and was given an email address and asked to email my bank account statement and proof of ID. The consultant on the phone told me that many people had had that problem with Telkom that particular day and that I would be refunded. a week later I had not received anything after emailing my bank statement and ID. So I went to the Telkom branch. Was told that a case had not been logged before. I resubmitted my documents and had to call the call centre once again to lodge a complaint. This time I was told that Telkom would investigate and get back to me. More than 6 weeks later I have not received my money back!! I am no longer using the SIM card and have R900 worth of airtime on it. I want my money bac****!!
I ordered 2 packs of the Giotto children's modelling clay 12 x350g, which was advertised at R66 (77% discount). Furthermore to qualify for free shipping a minimum order of R450 is required and I ordered further items such as diapers and crayons which I did not need and which were cheaper elsewhere. I paid for these items and received a receipt. However when the items arrived, I did not receive the 2 packs of Giotto modelling clay 12 x 350g . Instead I received 2 packs of Giotto modelling clay 10 x50g. I immediately asked for the correct items to be shipped. I was then informed that the item was incorrectly listed. I asked that Takealot/the vendor honour the sale, however they have refused to do so. At no point was I informed that the item was incorrectly listed, before my order had been processed. Otherwise I would have cancelled the enter order. I have returned the incorrect items and have now received an email from Takealot to say that the item I wanted is not available and I have received a credit. The item I originally wanted is still listed on their website, but now at a higher price. If Takealot cannot honour the price of a small, cheap item, which it has advertised, how can one trust the website and purchase more expensive items, such a electronics etc.

I entered this contest against my better judgement, as I thought that it is in aid of charity.

Now you may think that that I am just an upset parent, but here are my reasons for saying that this is a scam.

1) My son had 40 000 votes which cost R12 000 and did not make it into the top 100. A lady I know had 6000 confirmed votes and made it into the top 100. When we complained to the organisers, they removed her child from the top 100.

2) Another child had 50 000 confirmed votes and did not make it into the top 100. Even you assume that these votes were made on a quadruple day ( the day when all votes are multipled by 4), then his parents would have had to spend a minimum of R12 500.

3) They give the impression that this contest is run for charity. In essence only a small amount goes to charity. They just use charity as a front.

4) They make us the rules as they go. There was no quadruple day mentioned in the contest rules. the company decided on the last day to add a quadruple day of voting. on this day all votes would be quadrupled.

5) When parent's ask questions on their facebook page, they keep blocking us and deleting our messages.

6) After they announced the Top 50 babies, the list changed the next day and contestants were added and removed.

7) this contest is a betting scam. Statistically speaking 20% judging has a very small influence on the winners. In most states in the USA, contests like these are banned, because they are betting contests and the parents with the most money can buy the most votes.

So save your money and don't even bother entering.
