I am a first time dog owner and adopted a rescue dog. I went to the Bromhof clinic because of the good reviews it had. Dr Tassia examined Fred and found him to be okay, with just my needing to monitor his runny tummy and not give him that many treats. I was assured this was due to the stress of moving to a new place. She recommended I give him a dewormer and a tick fever tablet. To ensure that his tummy settled first, I gave him some chicken and rice in the evening, the next morning, after his walk, I gave him some chicken and rice again and the dewormer. At around 10.30 his tummy started running while we were at a book fair. I took him home and for a short walk. When we got inside, he had a massive diarrhoea and then proceeded to throw up. I called the vet and they said I should bring him quick. I did and I asked if these symptoms could be the work of the dewormer. I was assured both times that it doesn’t affect adult dogs like that. Fred was proceeded to be blood sampled (again), xrayed and put on antibiotics. I was panicked. I didn’t know what was going on. The doctor suggests an ultrasound but I think she sees me pale at the idea and says “Lets monitor him first.” And “He’s calm and well because of the antibiotics I gave him.” A little short of R3000 later, I take my baby home and because my sister speaks with our cousin who is a vet in Mozambique, she gets the advice that DEWORMERS CAN CAUSE SUCH REACTIONS IN DOGS! My cousin says keep him on chicken and rice and monitor. We hold of giving Fred any more meds and GUESS WHAT? He was a happy, healthy, firm stool dog from the Monday onwards!! I proceeded to contact the doctor and the clinic and have requested for a refund as my dog as clearly misdiagnosed AND I feel like I was taken advantage of. First time dog owner who worries over the slightest thing, probably is an easy mark. I’m told Dr Le-Anne will contact me. She does via email, and I was expecting a call from her for more over a week and a half now… still nothing. I really don’t understand why she can’t give me my refund. Suny Lou ********** 026

Telkom has got me totally driven up the wall and then some!

I needed to purchase voice bundles for the first time on my mobile contract and Lo and Behold, I see the options: Telkom Mobile and Telkom Fixed lines. I'm thinking "I'm with Telkom and I am a mobile phone so I go with the Telkom Mobile option.

After purchasing this yesterday, I'm able to make calls and life is good.

This morning, I can't make calls. I call in and the wonderful agent says after a good long while of waiting. "Sorry, you purchased the option of only making calls to other Telkom Mobiles". I'm like "What the Heck? I'm the only person who has a telkom mobile number in all my networks!" I asked him to convert the voice to all networks. I didn't need to have the same number of minutes or whatever, I just need to be able to make calls to other networks and guess what? He says it's not in the terms and conditions. I asked him where I could find these terms and conditions and he says I have to find them myself on the website. I told him I was on the website and he should tell me where, then he says "Search for Terms and Conditions". A number show up and I ask him which one, and he says "There's too many, you should look for yourself." WHAT AWESOME CUSTOMER SERVICE! I grit my teeth and tell him I can wait while he looks for it. And finally he comes back to me with an Option 12 I believe which states Bundles cannot be cancelled.

I told him I don't want to cancel, I want to convert, amend, change, adjust! He said I didn't understand which I am sure I don't, so I requested to speak to a supervisor or someone who can clarify why they can't amend it for me, and he gets me to hold a what feels like an irritable lifetime and then I just get the sound of a deadline at the end of the phone.

I'm just sooooo peeved with this process. No attempts to help, just "read the terms and conditions" which are not clear and concise.

I am counting the months to change my network. I'd rather pay more for better service than this.
