We took our Conure Parrot to them on a Saturday evening, we suspected it had swallowed an earring. The doctor took an X-ray that showed a tiny spot in the gizzard (way too small to be even the smallest earring) sadly we were not shown the X-ray at the time. The doctor informed us that they would have to try and flush it out and if that didn't work they would have to operate, We were requested to pay R12000 and they would do the procedure the following Monday. This was over and above the R2440 we had to pay for the consultation and X-ray (They advertise as a 24-hour operation which in my opinion negates after-hour fees of R1750 that we were charged). When I informed the doctor I didn't have that kind money her attitude changed and we were told we could take the bird home and bring her back on Monday if we had the money and if she survived the weekend. I was also informed that if the specialist came in on Sunday there would be an extra cost of R9000 because they came in over a weekend, I may be a bit out of touch but a R9000 callout fee is a bit over the top in my opinion. I went back on Monday to collect and invoice and the X-ray (all I was given on Saturday when paying the account was the slip from the card machine ). When I looked at the X-ray I realised the spot in the gizzard was less than a third of the size of the earring so it was something else entirely. The bird has not shown any signs of distress and seems perfectly healthy. I just can't believe that professional people will attempt to take advantage of a situation like this to make money and lie to people to do unnecessary procedures that they charge an absolute fortune for. I do not doubt that they have good vets working for them but their policies are immoral and that's a problem from the management level. May they get what they deserve!!!!
I purchased a remanufactured engine from Remtec in February 2024, I went for their engine as they offered a 100000km warranty and everyone else provided a 10000km the engine was fitted but had an oil leak Remtec approved the replacement of the gasket and my mechanic went ahead when he inquired about payment for the repair he found out Remtec has closed down. now they are trying to recover their funds from me and I'm out of a warranty.
I received my modem and sim card on Thursday 3 March, since then I have maybe had 2 hours of connectivity. I have opened many tickets and had no response. Today I managed to get hold of someone on their support number and after holding on for ages they told me I am too far from the nearest tower (1.3km according to their website coverage check) I requested a cancellation and a refund they said they will contact me to collect the useless modem and then process a refund, after reading reviews here on Hellopeter I requested that I rather return the modem to their offices and receive an immediate refund, this didn't sit well with them as it "not procedure". So I guess I can expect the same distane as other customers have received and wait for a refund while they still charge every month.
