Breach of POPI act
Credit profile and Personal Information I Received a call from Liberty Credit Silutions 21/05/2025 claiming that I pay too much interest that is not according to the National Credit Act and got the information from NCR and then I received an SMS that stated that I gave consent to draw a credit report of my credit profile. I DID NOT give them consent. They phoned me and had all my credit profile on hand already! I did not sign anything with them. I ask who is going to pay for all the services of them instructing the credit providers to lower my interest, they menstioned they will be paid from the penalties. I was asked if I’m working or not. I told them they should now.While I was buzy asking questions they hang the phone.This is identity theft and this company need to be reported for breaching POPI...

A grieved How Freud/Scam case was handled, no communication/feedback, Promises made
After I wrote to Hellopeter on the 01/01/2023, some one from Standard Bank (Social media people) called me on the day. She advised me to send all the documents, that I had send through and she will revert to me on Wednesday as on Tuesday she will not be working and the department (Freud) will call me. I was scammed on the 26/05/2022, I reported the matter to the Bank ±2, if my memory serves me well, I have never used the kind of money from the Credit Card that was issued by Standardbank, No one alerted me from the Freud/ Risk department to ensure if the right person doing all the transactions, all the years my card has never been cleared for any transactions I have made, it always hangs. to cut the this matter. I called the bank so many times send email went to the bank this took a toll on already ailing health,( I here this case was closed in June 2022) I was not notified I was calling, sending email, setting at the bank for hours) only to be informed in August) that they found nothing wrong on their side. I have declared how this has affected me and my daughter and being unemployed and about my health(I need to get meds monthly to Cope), November 2022 I was offered a SETTLEMENT with not explanation what It was? I ask about the interest No One came back to me.( I was under so much pressure to see this matter resolved and by signing the settlement) I was under the impressing by signing I will be only liable to what the amount I'm responsible for. BUT NO I still have to pay What I owed and the outstanding from the scammed money, And I don't have to tell any one about this. Because incense they are doing me a favour for this settlement. right now the interest is compounding, the collections department call daily, the arrangements I make fall on deaf ears, I have now been handed-over to their lawyers, I send all the required documents, to all department, spoke from one person to the next, emails calls, gone to the bank, no one wanted to hear or still not willing to hear my case.

Standard Bank failed me with their Risk controls/ their communication is Something I cannot discribe/ The Prestige Offering is money making scheme is doing nothing for me.
On the 26 May 2022 I was Scammed, I called Standardbank ± 30min about what happened and was informed that was not the bank. 1st, the bank did not call me to inform me of strange activity in my account. 2nd, I never use large amounts of money on it. 3rd, I after numerous amount of calls and emails, no one informed me that the case was closed, only was told three month later, with not being able to reach the fraud department( trying to get thorough to departments at the bank it's costly on waits for hours on calls at the end to be cut off and emails go answered ) I informed the bank that I can't afford this, I'm unemployed. I finished the bank with Police statement and Dr letter. what they did is to offer me settlement, to me I thought this is what I Originally owe the bank, but not. I still cannot effort to pay. my situation has not change. What I pay them it does not even make a dent, drowning in debts that I don't even have the the luxury of enjoying Under any circumtances the bank never clears transcetion with 24 hrs for the years that I have been with the bank, the amount hangs, I have transected in/outside the country and never cleared with all circumstances.
