I have taken out Rim and Tyre insurance with MFC who goes by the name of the Innovation group. I have never claimed from them in over 2 years a few days ago I road into a nail and without my knowledge the tyre was damaged beyond repair and the other front tyre was also damage due to this. I then took my vehicle to Supa Quick in Mitchells Plain to get a quote to repair the 1 tyre the attendant said that the other tyre was also damaged and will need replacement. I then proceeded to send the quote to the innovation group who never responded to me. So after 3 more days I contacted them again and sent my information to them again. Finally they received my quotation and they "assessed" the images and told me I only qualify for R1500 where the quote is R2800. However the website itself says that I am covered as follows: ======== Covers the costs of repairing or replacing damaged tyres and rims. You are covered up to the value of R10 000 per claim with an overall policy limit of R 40,000 over a two-year period. Includes roadside assistance and once-off wheel balancing and alignment ========= I have been with them for more than 2 years now and never Claimed. This is robbery at its finest. I then proceeded to inform the assistant assisting me with this issue and asked them if all 4 of my tyres somehow exploded at once will I still be covered for R1500 only. He/She replied with the word: Yes I then sent them the website outline of the insurance and since then no response was given.
<p>Sometime last month I took my car into Tonneson fitment center (5 Rosmead Ave, Claremont, Cape Town, 7708, South Africa) for a shock replacement and got a quote of R3000.00 which in all respect I was more than willing to play. I left my car there for 4 to 5 hours as I needed to get to work in that time.</p> <p> </p> <p>Upon arrival, I was shocked to find that my car was fitted with all sorts of parts I did not ask for. I proceeded to the counter to enquire about the parts installed and was told that they were needed, even though I did not agree for them to be installed.</p> <p> </p> <p>The invoice for this job was R6800.00 which is double and some to what I was originally quoted. I requested them to take the parts off but I was told that they had to break the old parts off of my vehicle.</p> <p>To add insult to injury my car was held ransom until I paid the balance of the invoice.</p> <p> </p> <p>In my need to get home, I paid the invoice and left rather unsatisfied as the knocking sound I initially came in for was still there. I then proceeded to contact the manager of the branch who politely asked for my car's registration and invoice number. I gladly gave it hoping that this robbery would be sorted out. </p> <p> </p> <p>Up until this day I have not received so much as a hello from the manager. I then took my car to Mr. TyreMan in Promenade and they sorted my car out for R750.00 .</p> <p> </p> <p>As a note to anyone trying to fix any part of your car I warn you do not use Tonneson Fitment Center, there are cheaper and more trustworthy centers out there. For instance, Mr. TyreMan fitment Centre, they ar friendly and you won't feel like you have ben robbed when you leave. </p> <p> </p>
