I have been trying to downgrade my membership plan due to financial constraints. I completed the information on their website on 13 November 2024, I have now received a reply that they have changed my details to the new plan, however they have put ,me on the highest payment bracket of this plan, after I sent them proof of income since 15 November 2024, I have sent 3 emails with the documentation required. Complaint Discovery Medical Aid Key Care Plus Membership Number 329693960: MP Brooks. Discovery Medical Aid, does not look after it’s Pensioner Members. The Membership Fee of R3 354.00, is more than my monthly income. Consequently, I am unable to pay my Rent or buy food since Discovery Medical Aid deducted the above amount from my bank account. I find myself destitute and totally stressed out. Documents were immediately sent to Discovery Medical Aid on 29th January 2024, by Lynnette Fourie of PSG. After retirement in February 2022, I completed all forms to join Discovery Medical Aid, the documentation was completed before the end of February 2022, and submitted in March 2022, joining as a private member. Membership Fees were R1489.00 per month. In April 2023 WhatsApp received at 09:20 informing of increase to R1489.00 Documents were requested again in November 2023, and were submitted by Lynette Fourie of PSG at the end of November 2023. On 21 December 2023, received a WhatsApp stating that my Membership Fee would be increased to R3354.00, As Lynnette Fourie was already on leave I logged onto Discovery and completed the form on the website, sending all required documentation. In January 2024 I received Lynnette Fourie of PSG once again submitted documented proof of my Earnings, with attached bank statements, and PSG confirmation of the amount of my pension.

I checked the system with the details and I have found an active subscription under your name which has been cancelled now. You will not be charged furthermore from this date, unless the transaction is reserved by the bank. Discovery after not paying around R3000 for medication after an emergency hospital admittance, though they have paid the hospital costs as far as I know. Due to COVID-19 I did not want to go out to the Doctor's rooms, I had a telephonic consultation with the Doctor. Discovery is not paying the consultation. Poor service as the telephonic consultation costs less than a physical consultation.
<p>After 5 years of great service, Telkom has become a terrible supplier. Internet speed is so slow I cannot do my banking. However they want payment, which I do on internet, I have had to ask my Company permission to do my banking including paying Telkom. Extremely poor service, as this complaint has been ongoing for the past 2 month. I am considering getting a new service provider.</p> <p> </p>
