Rotten meat again! For the umpteenth time we have bought meat that's over ripe. Two weeks ago it was oxtail that we couldn't eat, today the lamb chops. Best before date is still two days away. Please replace the manager!
Cannot be trusted! I'm stranded and for 36 hours he's been keeping me on a string. Says he'll be here at 10 am. Nothing by 1pm, doesn't answer his phone. Eventually get a voice note saying he's just finishing up another job then he'll be here. Nothing more the whole day. Next day, after many messages he sends a voice note saying 11am it's now 6:30pm... Still nothing. I'm still stranded.
Discount vouchers are being handed to Clients after purchase. I received 25% off Castle Light 410ml 'per item'. When I went to redeem this voucher for a case of Castle Light they tell me it is on 'one item', not meaning a case or a six-pack - it is for one can only! Surely one item should be one six pack or one case or even just one beer if that is what I wanted to buy. If I buy a packet of smarties, the discount is for one box, not one smartie. What a gimmick, we are being treated like idiots. Instead of attracting Clients, they have definitely annoyed this one once again.
My Speedqueen was leaking, and needed a service. Appliance Repairs Centre quoted me R3800 to service and repair. It was returned a few days later and the first time I used the machine it leaked more than ever, so was collected for repair again. A few days later it was returned and the first wash resulted in the clothing being covered in grease. Returned for the third time, and again and the first wash flooded the laundry. Then Anthony told me the leak was nowhere near where they had worked, and the quote was another R3700 to repair. Come on guys - this was the initial problem!!! Dumped the machine and had to buy a new one. Do yourself a favour: stay away from this company.
Once again I fell into the trap of buying meat on special at Pick n Pay Hyper Faerie Glen. Vacuum packed steak, 3 days before sell by date, when opened the entire house stank of rotten meat. When I took it back the next morning the butchery staff were not surprised, and simply exchanged it for me. So embarrassing when one invites friends over for a meal and this happens!
Every time I inquire about a product, the response is 'we are out of stock'. What a frustrating experience even when I go to buy their own house brand. With four salesmen and one sales lady sitting behind the counter making jokes and having a good time, I had to force myself between them for assistance. With an attitude someone eventually came to assist only to find that even their house-brand, a certain colour paint I needed, is simply out of stock. Every time I go to Builders and need assistance I need to make a scene before anyone comes to assist. Is it not time Management at this branch wake up and realize they are bringing the Builders name in disrepute?
It took 6 weeks to get my new glasses from Spec Savers. Two weeks later the lens fell out. They re-set it with a moan and groan. I battled along for weeks trying to get used to the glasses, but they just didn't work for me. I was sure I had received someone else's! They did a free re-test then suggested I get 'office glasses' rather than bi-focals and I would only pay in the difference. Ten days later (because they had my email address incorrect) I finally received a quote. Taking into consideration that I provided my own frames, bottom line is I must now pay around R3 500.00 for simple reading glasses. What a rip-off! I am fuming. Keep away from this branch.
The parking lot at Equestria Pick n Pay is constantly full of people trying to sell something - haggling the customers. You have no sooner parked and someone very pushy is in your face. No security to be seen anywhere. I'm done shopping there! I feel threatened and unsafe.
Popped in to Faerie Glen KFC at 18h15 last night, looking forward to our first take-out in ages. What a disappointment! I ordered a Streetwise 2, but was told there were no chips. They gave me a whole R3.00 off the normal price in place of the chips. I wonder whether if I return today and ask for chips whether I would be charged R3.00? I added nuggets to my order, paid R24.90 for six tiny little nuggets. What a rip-off!! They won't be seeing me again.
Everyone I know complains of bad experiences on the payout of insurance claims. Well, I am sharing the wonderful experience we had with our claim through Santam. Following a break in where thieves collected our valuables and tv, ripped the entire safe out of the wall we submitted our claim. Amazingly after Santam assessed our claim they actually paid out 25% more than we had claimed. Who has ever heard of such a case?? We have been a client of Santam's for many years and this has been our first claim for household goods, and all we can say is they must be the best short term insurance firm by far. What an honest company to do business with! Thanks Santam!
