I purchased a lipstick a month ago from Edgars, Mall of Africa. The lipstick was on sale from R300 to R150. I have never purchased Smashbox but I have heard great reviews of it. I tried on the tester and there was no issue. The one I purchased however was extremely sticky on my lips and could have been expired. I purchase a lot of makeup and have never experienced a product as such. I emailed edgars and asked the Smashbox consultant to return my call or respond in any way but I have not received a response since. I am greatly disappointed in the product and customer service that I have received and the product after 2 uses has now been thrown away. This purchase might be small but as a high end brand the brand should certainly not create doubt.
I bought cosmetics from Edgars, Mall of Africa and one of the products purchased was defective. I called the Mall of Africa branch on numerous occasions as well as emailed the mall of Africa branch regarding the defective goods, receiving no reply. After numerous calls the advice given was to take the goods to a Durban branch and all that was required was that the cardholder be present. So we went Pavilion and little to our knowledge Edgars was under renovation. We then went to red square to get some sort of help from edgars employees. The manager of red square said that we must take the item back to Edgars, Mall of Africa to return because we bought it from there. Customer service was extremely poor!!!! I cannot stress my point enough... how does a defective item from edgars become the customers problem and furthermore... edgars employees should be more knowledgeable about return of defective goods policy as well as refrain from being plain out lazy to help customers in situations as such. we are greatly disappointed.
Customers came to take advantage of the R50 Spur birthday special. There were 2 options, steak or chicken schnitzel. As people were queued at the entrance the manager told the customers that the steak option is not available as they had run out of gas to grill the steak leaving only one option available, the chicken schnitzel option only. This is a lame excuse for a restaurant based in Pavilion to have poor management s****s. In my opinion if you do not have the means of providing what you are promoting and if you are under prepared do not run a special at all. A month ago Nandos ran a special and it was well thought about and within their capacity to deliver. They should not take more than they can handle. If the store ran out of gas they should have offered a rain cheque. Maybe Spur should honour their agreement with the public. This is a review that only applies to Spur Pavilion.
