Whilst there were no problems with the anaesthetists themselves, who were very caring, kind, warned they were out of medical aid rates etc, it is the accounts department that I have had serious issues with. I had an operation at Hillcrest and before I was even out of hospital I was getting requests for payment. After being released two weeks later I got a payment from medical aid which I incorrectly assumed was for them so paid them in full not realizing I had overpaid them. It as only after I was starting to recover that I saw my error, with no acknowledgment from the accounting staff at Drs Edington. They have to date a month later not refunded my almost R12000 overpayment. I’ve personally had to conract Medical Aid to sort problems out with errors in diagnostic codes for one of their accounts which by the way they took off the overpayment I made. Very unimpressed with the staff and agree probably anaesthetists to stay at away from.
