On the 22 July 2019 I settled my Woolworths account in full and called their financial services department to ask for a paid up letter. I was told by the consultant that she could see zero balance but it would take 36 hours to reflect and after that I would be sent the letter. To my surprise on the 26 July an amount of R44.97 was debited from my cheque account. So my question is, are the financials so bad for Woolworths that they are stealing from their customers? Would not recommend anyone to open an account with them.
Consultant says he can see my account is paid off and I have a zero balance but says the process takes 36 days. I requested a paid up letter but apparently that also takes between 24 and 48 hours. It’s unbelievable. But if you don’t pay on the 1st of every month they will send you a string of sms’s. I wish there was better management of customer accounts.
I bought a number of items at this store and was assured that new items would be delivered in cardboard boxes, however I was sent the floor displays. The items were soiled, damaged and they sent 2 chairs short - it was a 10 piece set, they sent 8. When I called on the day of delivery - they said it will be sorted out, then they came back and said it will only be sorted out in the new year. I asked for refund and was not given. Please I urge you not to ever buy from this store. The owner had a terrible attitude - it should have been an indication of the service to come. They are unprofessional and thieves.
