Gotogate is a big ****. Been waiting almost 2 months for my refund, chat representatives are not helpful and the company can’t be reached via telephone
I bought a Samsung QLED 65 inch Curve TV on Friday the 24th of November 2017 (Black Friday) on promo at Dion Wired Hyde Park for 29,999.00, took it back home and had it mounted on the wall hoping to enjoy all the qualities the salesman (Lorenzo) had described. It was to be a beautiful Christmas as I had bought the TV for my wife as an early Christmas present but to my surprise the “highly” talked about TV broke down barely 2 weeks later. On Wednesday the 13th of December 2017, I called the Samsung office on ********** and spoke to a company rep who then advised that one of their technicians will give me a call. 48hours later on Friday the 15th of December 2017 at about 9am I got a call from a Samsung technician named Andre informing me that he was on his way over to my house in Bryanston to examine the TV. Andre examined the TV and made these reports as follows Job number: ********** 261 Model number: QA65Q7CAM Serial number: 00HH3FBJA00144H Visit date: 15/12/2017 Defect reported: TV remote not working, TV switches off, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth module faulty Repair result: Incomplete Note: Exchange begin done by Samsung Head office Bryanston And told me to send my purchase receipt via email to a lady called Carol on ********** and to call her on ********** to inform her once I had sent the email which I did immediately on the same Friday the 15th of December. On Monday the 18th of December 2017 I ran a follow up with Carol hence I hadn’t heard anything from her and she informed me that she was aware of the situation and that someone was going to call me soonest, I then asked her to specify exactly when I would be contacted as I am planning a Christmas holiday with my family, she then said I will be contacted before Wednesday. I then ran another follow up on her on Tuesday the 19th of December as I hadn’t heard from anyone yet and she promised to look into the matter. On Wednesday the 20th of December at about 9:30am I called Carol again complaining about not haven’t heard from anyone, she then gave me the contact details of a person in the name of Riaz Sallie with the reverse logistics whom I then contacted. I spoke to Raiz and he assured me everything was under control and advised me to go into the store where the purchase was made (Dion Wired Hyde Park) for a replacement and even CC’d me in an email which he sent to a manager named Vincent and I quote “Good Day Vincent, Please assist with the below customer bought a Samsung Television and an exchange has been requested. Please assist customer with an exchange and we will further credit. Further please contact our call Centre on ********** to log a credit then quote reference ********** 261/ ********** 716” I walked into Dion Wired and spent 4 hours there begin tossed around like a ragdoll. Another manager at Dion Wired named Lebo attended to me and told me specifically that the intended television was out of stock and I could either get my money back of settle for a less television begin the QLED flat instead of the QLED curve which I had previously purchased. I declined his offer and decided to call Riaz from Samsung. I spoke to Riaz and he forwarded me to a manager whom I didn’t quite get his name but he was very rude and told me straight up that I had only two options, either take the Samsung QLED flat TV or get a refund which I also refused. The scam here is hence I bought the TV on black Friday on promo and the TV has since reverted to its original price neither Dion Wired nor Samsung wants to bare a loss which I find very unacceptable. For now I am stock with a broken TV acting as an expensive wallpaper hanging on my living room wall.
