Samsung South Africa
Based on recent customer reviews, Samsung South Africa faces severe criticism across virtually every aspect of the customer experience. Customers consistently describe defective products, unresolved warranty claims, extremely poor communication from call centres and repair partners, and prolonged delivery and refund delays from the online store. While isolated praise exists for individual agents who resolve cases, the overwhelming pattern is one of broken promises, repeated escalations, and customers left without working products or refunds for extended periods.

I bought a Samsung Z Fold 7 in September vis MTN contract. I have had the phone for just over 5 months. I have put a protective case on the the device as well as a screen protector, as this is a business contract. 2 weeks ago I opened the phone 9which was perfect until that moment) except for a small scratch on the side of the device from my wedding ring. Th screen started flashing and then went dead. I restarted the phone and there was a green line. I turned the phone off and later the day I turned it on and noticed that the screen was completely dark and that small cracks had appeared in the fold. within hours the cracks got larger and the screen started bubbling and lifting. I contacted MTN, my service provider which assured my that my phone was still under warranty. I was instructed to take it to SSS Cellular in Boksburg as they are the repair agents for Samsung. I took the phone in for assessment and repair. I was contacted 3 days later and given a quote of R19000.00 for repair as the phone screen was cracked. I was also told that the frame was bent. It was communicated to me that I must have dropped the phone or sat on the phone whilst in my pocket. I have never dropped the phone nor do I put phones in my pocket. It has never happened. I contacted Samsung South Africa ... The manager from the MTN store contacted Samsung... The only reply we get is it is being investigated... I paid the R19000.00 as I need the phone urgently for work. Was told yesterday that I could collect the phone at 08:00 from SSS Cellular Boksburg. I arrived to be told that the phone didnt pass quality control and that the front screen now has dead pixels. SSS Cellular will submit a report to Samsung. That Fold was taken care of and all these things are going wrong with it!!! I think either the range of phones has pathetically weak build quality, or there was a batch of defective phones. I want R19.000 refunded to me for the repair, and I want Samsung to issue me with a new phone. I will immediately sell the Samsung phone and will by an iPhone or an Honor phone, which has obviously already surpassed Samsung on quality and popularity. I have used Samsung phones for over 20 years, and this is the eventuality of Brand loyalty. No more! Everyone should avoid Samsung devices. Their after sale service is **********. I will be replacing everyones phone in my company from a Samsung device to and iPhone or an Honor device

I am so disappointed. I took 2 A56 phones kn Contract that come with earbuds. Only 1 pair was delivered and the second 1 was said to be delivered the following week. 3 weeks later still no earbuds, no communication whatsoever. I have tried calling the Samsung consultant that assisted with the claim, she is not responding to my calls or Texts. I need assistance.

I’m very frustrated with my recent experience ordering a samsung device from Avo. I placed an order for a Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra (Order NWX-YXG-X6Z), and to date, I have not received anything. The delivery was supposed to happen on 04 March 2026, yet there has been no update, no delivery, and no accountability. Every time I follow up, I get the same response: that Samsung handles their own deliveries and it’s “outside of Avo’s process.” This is simply unacceptable. I purchased through Avo, paid Avo, and now I’m being pushed between companies with no resolution. As a customer, I shouldn’t have to chase multiple parties to get what I paid for. Passing responsibility like this shows a serious lack of customer care and ownership. This experience has been extremely disappointing and stressful. I expect clear communication, accountability, and most importantly — my order delivered. Would not recommend until this is resolved.

We bought a microwave in 2023 worth R2500 from Makro Riversands. Not even a year later the microwave switched off and would not switch on. Took it too Makro and stated that we are having a baby soon and we don't need issues with this, can they kindly see if it can be replaced. But they repaired and we received it back. 2 Months after that, the same issues occurred, took it back in and stated again please replace the unit, but just repaired it. 4 months later exact same issue occurred, we then had a month old baby and a microwave was essential at this point. We took it back to Makro and said PLEASE REPLACE! I sent Samsung mails, tried to get hold of Samsung myself without any luck. We received the microwave back "repaired". In December 2025 the same issue occurred, took it to Makro (now the 4th time) and said we want a new unit that this is ridiculous, its an expensive unit and we have only but had issues with it, Makro then stated that Samsung normally replaces the unit when it has come back 4 or more times. Makro sent the microwave to Samsung. Samsung contacted me and advised that now that my warranty is up they are not willing to replace and that my repair is worth R1800. Of course this is the feedback i was expecting, drag out the repair process so that by the time the warranty is done you simply pull up your shoulders and say oh well. This is unacceptable, R1800 repair on a microwave worth R2500??? Oh, and best of all is the technician stated that it is a microwave and that is about the lifespan of a microwave so it is what it is. Absolute joke if you ask me. I have a R700 cheap microwave at the office that's been going for 4 years now without 1 issue. So Bottom line, Samsung promotes itself as a good brand, you pay the higher fee. but as soon as something goes wrong they don't care, wait out my warranty period (with how many complaints in the warranty period with NO FEEDBACK) and then simply just say they are unwilling to assist. Really disappointed with this service and no-care attitude and will for sure never buy a Samsung again. We asked for our microwave back, unrepaired, as we will get the microwave either repaired somewhere or purchase a different brand, but now have to pay a fee to get my piece of **** back.

Went to Samsung Store in Eastgate for assistance with a faulty Samsung phone. The simcard will not work on Data or calls after 30mins and the technician says that if 5G preferred is selected under Mobile Networks, then the phone won't work at all if there is no 5G network. This is completely false. He then states that the phone won't drop to LTE/4G if there is no 5G network. This once again is false. I told him he is wrong and it will drop to 4G. I proved it to him with a quick google search and the FAQ on Samsung's website confirms it. He then says that I am arguing with him and he can't help me and I must go somewhere else. So when I prove he is wrong about something that is his job to know, I get told I am arguing and must go somewhere else. They have failed to book in a defective Samsung device and as a result, will never use the Samsung brand again if this is how the support is.

Just an update my complaints to Samsung went totally unanswered, so just to reiterate if you want a good product go to Samsung, if you want after sales service choose someone else. Also note that the Care plus service offered, is probably already covered by your all risks household insurance so is really not a benefit, I took a 2 year cover but the phone died after a year, so I lost a years worth of cover so really not at all helpful. End of story.

I purchased 2 samsung galaxy s26 ultra phones, 2 high speed chargers and 2 covers. Yet the after service pertaining to a small issue is disgusting. The 1 cover which I reported for over a week ago still hasn't been resolved. The cover is damaging my phone as the lock unlock button does not work through this cover. I've emailed and chatted to an agent but no one ever assists. Disgusting service. I requested an upliftment and replacement but no one cares to do their damn job when its customers like me putting food on your table!
