If you an international client and things don't go according to plan, expect for a large amount of your money to be kept when you request a refund. I paid R850 plus R200 to collect my unabridged birth certificate from Home affairs that I was told by home affairs was ready. Bunnyhop made contact with home affairs and they said there is no certificate. Bunnyhop said they did their part and are only refunding the courier fee to an SA bank account.
I wish to complain about the rejection of a claim on my BMW for the following reasons. 1: The assessor has rejected the claim on grounds that the vehicle was damaged to wear and tear and not from impact. 2: Please would you consider the following documentation from 3 months ago, the first being a full DEKRA examination on the vehicle with a full pass, if you are not familiar with DEKRA (AA) I will enlighten you. They are not your average vehicle test centre, they are the most scrutinising vehicle assessor in South Africa, as you will see there is absolutely no mention of any sort of wear and tear, rust etc on the documents provided. 3: You requested a report from PG Autoglass which is available for your convenience, as you will see once again passed with flying colours. 4: Also available is the report from Supertech BMW on the key reading, the following were picked up: Power Window module faulty Inlet Manifold Ports ****ed (Common and diesel vehicles, just incase your assessor is not aware of this, also very far from the front of the motor) Diesel particulate filter clogged. Loss of engine oil via engine breather (Also common on vehicles that are not new, otherwise known as blow by) 5: Receipt of suspension, tyres, brakes and shocks all being replaced also available. Point in case: I do not believe that with all the information that you have at hand that you can honestly say that in three months the vehicle fell apart due to wear and tear, it wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that out, especially a German Engineered vehicle. I find it extremely disturbing as well that the assessor went through to D-Mac, inspected the vehicle and just said that their paperwork wasn’t in order, he then apparently went and the a third time went back (I would like to point out that this was over a period of three weeks) and in all those times could not ascertain wear and tear, even asking the company to do a compression test which the vehicle passed. Myself and the tow truck driver both saw the extent of the damage, one that was very clear was the gearbox oil cooler being knocked completely off the engine. I am highly disappointed with the service from the get go on this and then to be told that you won’t honor your side of the contract when we have honored ours paying you every month, I would expect this from companies that offer cash back on no claims. I have contacted the ombudsman but am hoping that we can rather settle this amicably.
