The finance department of this institution don't have a clue what they are doing. Two of my sons are currently studying here. Worst experience of my life.
Two months ago I receive a SMS to upgrade to LTE as the copper(ADSL) in my area is not reliable(Exchange also only 2Mbs max). With great excitement I accepted the offer and "upgraded" to a 10Mbs service. Tested the line speed and WOW 10Mbs, now finally after many years of being stuck on a 2Mbs connection we could finally all connect at once. But as with all Telkom services there is always a catch: 18h00 arrived and we are down to a 1.5Mbs line how exciting, high latency is back. Every night at 18h00 1,5Mbs connection(and I'm not on a business hour package) What are you people doing, why over subscribe your towers. You have a big push to discontinue copper, get your ducks in a row, normally you create the infrastructure and then get the clients or at least expand while your network demand increases. Started with 33k modem, quality of services was better back then, at least I knew I connected at a slow speed, actually achieved the connection speed I paid for. Reported the congestion on the tower (case no: 31066110), received a SMS saying it was resolved...lol. Ooh and there is no fiber in my area, so I'm stuck........ Really unhappy customer.
Im constanly experiencing high latency issues. It was resolved for a short while in December. Currently I'm experiencing high latency on my ADSL line again. Single to noise ration is fine, so the line seems to be fine the Telkom tech confirmed this. But I'm experiencing latency between ********** ms, making it a timeous process to navigate the internet etc. The latency disappear during the night and when I test it in the morning it is fine 30ms constantly. During the day it fails again and the high latency is back. I asked a Telkom tech regarding issues in the area and he explained to me that the exchange is congested and should be upgraded. "It is one of his problem areas". I'm tired of paying for a servcie I cant use and talking to people that want to reset my port. Did a Speed test today and my download speed is at 0.2Mbps(Modem sync at 2Mbps), tech worked on line two days ago. I need to know if Telkom will be able to give me a stable connection via the exchange in our area if not then I need to explore other services. Simple answer YES or NO.
