In july 2017 i sent an email to telkom to cancel my telephone lines.i was then advised that my contract with telkom only expires at the end of september 2017 and i should cancel my contract 30 days before this date as it takes 30 days to cancel.I then cancelled my lines at the begining of september 2017 at the telkom store at clear water mall in writing and i was told that my contract and lines would be terminated in 30 days from then .On the 10th of October 2017 i noticed that my lines were still active so i called telkoms billing department again to find out why my line was still active and i was told that they havent received any cancellation and there is nothing they can see on there system accept that my line is still active. On the 11th of October 2017 i then went to the telkom store in clear water mall to cancel my lines again and this time i kept the proof.Iwas then told that it would be cancelled in 30 days.In about 35 days i called the billing department again and i was told that my lines were still active and there is nothing they can do unless i email them proof of my cancellation which i did. I do have the ladies name and email address that i emailed and she assured me that it will be sorted out this time and she would comunicate with me via email. That was the last time i heard from her.I called the billing department of telkom back again in about 7 days to find out why my lines are still active and i was told that they cannot see any cancellation on the system and the only way i can be helped is if i email them a copy of the cancellation letter which i did and i explained the lady tha i have to leave these address before the 28th of december 2017 so it has to be cancelled and she assured me it will be done.I then told her that i wanted a direct line on which i could contact her as i could never get back to the same person so everytime i called telkom i would have to explain my whole story to each person and im now very frustrated and im not prepared to do this again.I also told her that im going to put my complaint on hello peter and she then assured me that she would definately sort out the problem and i shouldnt report it.So i gave her the oppotunity to do so alhough she said she cannot give me a direct line or a cell number to contact her and advised me that she would contact me via email. So i again emailed the lady from another email address as i had no access to email on that specific day. That was the last time i heard from her.I then tried to send her an email again threathening to report my story to hello peter but got no response from her to date 14th of january 2018.My biggest problem is i have business minutes on these lines and whether i use these lines or not i still have to pay an account of R700 to R800 per month for something i cannot use.I have complained to telkom on numerous occasions about the one line that was blocked all the time for approxamately seven months that i could not use but i still had to pay for.I spent hours on the line holding on while i was shoved from one department to the other and no one knew what was going on and i was never helped which led to me requesting my services with telkom be cancelled.I have mentioned to telkom in my last email that i am not going to pay this account from now on and i was told that i would be blacklisted if i dont pay the account. Thank you Rama Reddy
