****med by this company. They don't respect small orders, and didn't even refund me when I drove from tableview to durbanville to fetch my special items for my dad's birthday and they said they were given to someone else when I arrived and said it would cost a whopping R300 to deliver it from Brackenfell to Tableview, which is completely absurd. They refuse to refund and have no respect for people's time, or orders.
If you are looking for a place that is unorganized, overpriced, rude and under pays their staff then The President Hotel is the best option for you. Not only does the management not care when receiving feedback from “gold star” clients, not even from people supporting them for the last 20 years that say they have had the worst service since the new manager Reinard Korf has started working there, explained by an elderly man who was furious and left a note on the bill stating “RUBBISH” in scribbled capital letters and saying “Nothing but bad service delivered with bad attitude”, “worst experience to date” only to hear the staff lazily telling me when I reported this issue “he’s just being unreasonable” after he waited 40min for a glass of cola (which I had to even call the waiter for, and remind her about after she took the order) and another 50min or so for his rock of a sandwich of which he offered me (which I didn’t even try...because I could see the quality was lacking and it was so dry to start off with that I couldn’t even manage to lie and say that I’d eat it) and trust me, I’m not a fussy eater, as I lived in India for two years and learnt to eat almost anything. Besides this being way overpriced for what it was... the server was horribly rude and was even instructed by management to pour the side of chips on to the wooden board the sandwich was served on in front of the customer ,because of the in season rule of “no glass by the pool area”, so she proceeded to topple the side chips over which messed all over the pool lounger too so was not appealing anymore, and had to be picked up by the customer and put aside, with no care or apology at all from the server at all. This waitress then proceeds to tell this elderly man that he must eat with his hands as she won’t be bringing cutlery as due to the pool rules stating “no knives or forks by the pool” and the same was done over and over with each person ordering. This elderly man looked at me with disgust and confusion as he’s clearly old enough to eat responsibly without throwing his cutlery into the pool, and asked me “why on earth is an intelligent women like you working for fools like this, it’s degrading to you” while pointing to the new management that the hotel hired recently, and proceeding to tell me that if I ever need a job at British Airways he’ll hire me in a second, after I explained to him the changes I would have made if I were in charge of what was happening at the hotel, and how quality and customer care really matters to me more than anyone else I met working there. Also while working there I was ***ually harassed and told to “rub a clients ****” after being forsfully told to rub sun lotion on the customers back and front. (“This is just the hospitality industry dear”) While working there I even saw the bar take dirty glasses and serve complimentary drinks in them too, and when I told them that there are dirty marks on the glasses of lipstick they shrugged and said “ well it’s free anyways” and did nothing about it, and this happened twice or thrice in the two weeks I was there, can you only imagine how many other times and also in the kitchen... eeew!? I wasn’t even paid the full amount after quitting the job. Which in no world is fair. I left due to the fact that my self respect was being highly effected by inefficient management, disorganized and disappointing “efforts” in the first place.. so this shouldn’t have surprised me.. but did as that is just not the way I personally work.. Someone chose a random amount to pay me, which with any calculations I tried I couldn’t even reach.. but when I sent the invoice for amount still due I was just ignored as if I was wrong, and I wasn’t..and still haven’t been compensated til today. So if this sounds like something that would interest you then feel free.. but besides the food being very stingily prepared and the bad attitude of the staff I can surly say this has been an unforgettable experience that left a bad taste in my mouth for some time now. “This is the hospitality industry” is all I was told constantly.. But if you ask me.. it’s just **** management by a money hungry hotel that gives no ****s about anything else but themselves. Without a doubt the most unprofessional hotel in my opinion. I will not be working in the hospitality industry anymore, and I’m glad.. this place taught me how places shouldn’t treat their people who pay their bills or be run. At the end of the day, I never need to see them again.. but can’t believe these people sleep at night knowing that they are literally robbing people. It isn’t about the money, it’s about doing what’s right. At the end of the day it’s your choice, but if there was a no star button I would have chosen it instead of the 1 star provided. I hope this review spares you the trouble of meeting these people who clearly don’t care and waste your time and money.
