Extremely dishonest service department. Failed to take action for repeated high oil consumption mid service intervals having been reported 4 times between service intervals (once between each). This was swept under the carpet while under service plan by the Barons VW Cape Town chief mechanic (Deon) and Service Manager Faiqah Reddy. Upon having the vehicle assessed by an independent VW dealership, VW Claremont (not within the Barons group), it was discovered that the oil leak was due to a leak at the sump gaskets. Claremont VW acted in my best interests. Never ever will I use Barons VW Cape Town. I would strongly discourage anyone to use them especially with the rot in management filtering down right through the dealership. Sadly, not an uncommon theme experienced in the motor car industry - good service in the sales team but terrible after-sales service.
Food and coffee are both impressive but this is spoilt by the terrible attitude of the staff. Unfriendly, rude, massive egos, unpleasant to deal with. I will no longer support this business only due to the staff experience unfortunately.
My experience with Afrihost has been disgusting, everything from billing to customer service from their agents with their bad attitudes. I discovered Afrihost through advertising media and decided to give them a go. I registered online and opted for the 10MBPS Fibre, which had a installation period of 2 weeks. After 4 weeks, I had still not been contacted for the line to be installed. I contacted Afrihost and according to their records, the installation was pending my approval from their third party contractors - yet I had never been contacted. I took it up with their manager but he could not give me an answer or escalate the issue. After 8 different calls over a two week period, trying to resolve this issue I was extremely frustrated as all agents and managers answers were that they cannot help me and I need to wait for the third party contractors to contact me for Fibre installation as they had no access to the third party's databases and could not get me feedback. In addition to this, I had called 5 times and tried to speak to the same agent, but he was always unavailable and not once did he return my call. By this point I had received my router already, for about a week. Eventually I decided I could not deal with the frustration, so I decided to cancel my order with Africhost and contacted them to have their router returned. The router was returned within a few days, upon which I received a mail from Afrihost confirming that they received the router. A month later, R922.32 was deducted from my bank account for the router. I immediately contacted Afrihost via email, 3 emails were sent by me with no response. After calling, I got advised by Anita M, the supervisor, that I would received a refund within 14 days. It has been 6 weeks and I have still not received my refund. She also confirmed this via email - in writing. To this day, I have not had any of my 4 emails requesting refund, responded to. Afrihost is by far the worst service provider I have ever experienced. I am very happy with the service of their competitors and I would never recommend anyone use them because of their dishonesty, immoral business, and incompetent and rude staff.
