Bought spares in Woodmead branch last week Tuesday (24/02/2026), Rethabile sold me the wrong Parts. Inform them, they say they will collect and refund within 3 days. Day goes no contact from VW. Called as to speak to Manager Pieter, says on top of it, will call ne back. No call Back from him. No update from Rethabile. today 04/03/2026 still no communication. No refund. Reply from owner "unable to reach out directly." my name appears on goole review. am sure if they wanted to solve the problem they would have attended to it.

Barons Volkswagen waterfront I am very disappointed, I've never had such a bad customer service. I brought my car for Service and diagnostic on the 10th of December 2025 at 07h25 hoping to have it checked same or worst case scenario the following, the day went I received no communication, on the following day I decided let me call and find out, only to be told, someone whom my car is assigned will contact me with progress a day went by, my brother contacted them on my behalf and then they contacted me only to tell they can't locate a problem but they will run further diagnostic, mind they only called because my brother called them to find out how far are they, because the car has been there for two days now. On the 12th December 2025 still there was no contact made until after 12h00 then at 13h00 I decided to go take my car

Volkswagen Waterfront on Dock Road Cape Town, did a major services on my vehicle and decided to remove 1 wheelnut from each wheel. When I contacted them they said they cant help me today and just put the phone down in my ear. If im going to get in an accident and my insurance is not going to pay out I will sue them for everything

I have purchased every one of my vehicles through this VW dealership over the years – from my Audi to a Golf 6 GTI, a Golf 7 GTI and a Tiguan 2.0 TSI. Because of that long-standing loyalty, I never expected the shocking experience I had with the white Golf 6 GTI on Friday, 19 September 2025 @ Baron’s Woodmead My family and I were the first customers to view this vehicle. I made it clear to the salesperson that I intended to buy it. I even discussed paying cash or using finance as a way to teach my son responsibility. I asked only whether a small discount might be possible and was told that the price could only be finalised after the 80-point workshop check. I was specifically instructed to wait for the workshop feedback before anything else could happen. At no point did anyone: • Ask me for a holding deposit, • Request that I sign an Offer to Purchase, or • Warn me that if I did not act immediately the car would be sold to another buyer. This morning I phoned to check on the car and was told it was still in the workshop. Later the same day—without a single warning, deadline, or opportunity to respond—I simply received an email stating that the car had been sold to another buyer. I was never given the option to: • Match the other buyer’s offer, • Pay a deposit, or • Make a decision within a set timeframe. It now feels as though the car could have been quietly earmarked for someone else, because the process followed bears no resemblance to the transparent, professional sales practice that a reputable dealership should uphold. What makes this even harder is telling my son, who had already grown attached to the car, that it was sold without us ever being given a chance to buy it first. As a loyal customer who has repeatedly supported this dealership, this experience is both heartbreaking and unacceptable. If the real policy is “first person with cash wins,” then customers might as well stay home and race to pay online—because having a salesperson and a dealership process clearly means nothing. I call on the Dealer Principal to: 1. Personally investigate this matter, 2. Provide a transparent account of how this sale was allowed to proceed despite clear interest from the first viewing customer, and 3. Explain what the correct process should have been so that loyal customers are never placed in this position again. This is not just about one car. It is about fairness, integrity, and the treatment of South African consumers.

Extremely dishonest service department. Failed to take action for repeated high oil consumption mid service intervals having been reported 4 times between service intervals (once between each). This was swept under the carpet while under service plan by the Barons VW Cape Town chief mechanic (Deon) and Service Manager Faiqah Reddy. Upon having the vehicle assessed by an independent VW dealership, VW Claremont (not within the Barons group), it was discovered that the oil leak was due to a leak at the sump gaskets. Claremont VW acted in my best interests. Never ever will I use Barons VW Cape Town. I would strongly discourage anyone to use them especially with the rot in management filtering down right through the dealership. Sadly, not an uncommon theme experienced in the motor car industry - good service in the sales team but terrible after-sales service.

Ronald at VW Woodmead bought my car and **** about payments. I waited 2 full days for payment to be released from them. Ronald said clearly it would be received the day after purchase. This has left me in a predicament, without a vehicle, waiting on VW. The other dealership is also awaiting on VW which makes it even worse.
