Also thought it was a scam until it arrived 2 months later. Their numbers are unreachable and their email responses seem system generated. Then I looked here on hellopeter and was convinced it was a scam. I even commented on every post on their facebook page telling everyone it's a scam. Be patient, they will not respond to you. And If they do, they will say it's a backlog issue. But your stuff will arrive... eventually.
I have been trying for 2 months now to cancel a month to month data contract I had signed up for. I sent an email on the 4th December 2017 to the cancellations dept containing my id and the cancellation form. The auto reply says they'll get back to me after 21 days. After 4 weeks, I get a generic reply from one of the consultants titled 'standard response for blank emails', saying that I need to attach my id and the cancellation form and send it to the provided email address (the same address I initially sent my documents to). I have been trying for over 2 weeks now emailing the consultant(with the documents) saying that I had already sent the documents to the same email. I have had no response regrading the matter. This is going to be the 3rd month now where my account will be debited for a service I have not used. It looks to me like this is a common ploy to keep making money. The 21 day response time seems to suite the cause very well. And apparently this is the only way to cancel a 'month to month' contract. Telkoms cancellation process is extremely unethical. If you're thinking of taking up a telkom contract, just remember there's no way out!
