Excellent service as well as after sales service
On Sunday, 28 January 2018, I bought a bar fridge for my daughter who is a student at the Wellington campus Of the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, at the GAME store in Paarl in the Western Cape. I was assisted by a person called Marshall Rowan. He told me they didn't have any in stock but they had at the warehouse at the airport but first I must pay a separate few hundred rand and then the fridge would be delivered the immediate following day. That was Monday 29 January 2018. I paid the full amount for the fridge including the extra shipping amount. Then I went on a 5 hour's journey to George where I live. The next day came and went without hearing anything from GAME or Marshall. Then Tuesday, I decided to call GAME-Paarl and asked to speak to this Marshall guy. They told me Marshall is busy on another phone, he would call me back. In the meantime my daughter in Wellington also called GAME on the same day and was also told that Marshall would call her back. Marshall never came back to any of us up to this moment. Tuesday also went by without a trace of GAME or the so called Marshall guy. On Wednesday, I called GAME again... then I had to listen to some stupid adverts or music, while my valuable airtime flew out the window. Finally somebody answered the phone and I asked to speak to Marshall. (At this stage I had to talk to myself and told myself to just keep calm.) The lady in a friendly voice told me to hang on... (then music and stupid adverts again) After some time again, somebody picked up and I tried to explain in Afrikaans what my problem is... I was just starting to explain when the person started shouting: "English, English English!!!" As a client I have the right to be served in my preferred language. This person then promised to call me back as soon as he sorted out my problem. That would've been an hour or so later... Wednesday came and passed... No trace of GAME-Paarl, the Marshall guy or this English person.... In the meantime my daughter in Wellington had endless problems to just get answers from this unprofessional company. I cannot even start to explain the poor service she experienced. Today is Thursday. Still no fridge, no Game, no Marshall guy nor any English person. Not even a phone call. Earlier I again tried to get hold of Marshall. The friendly lady answered after I had to spent quite a lot of airtime listening to rubbish on the phone. (I will never buy anything at GAME Paarl again anyway.) I held my pose and sounded nice to her too... Then she put me through to the stupid Marshall Rowan guy... I waited... and waited...and waited... there was no Marshall guy, no friendly lady, no English person, no GAME-Paarl... and still... NO FRIDGE!!! I was just cut off... I'm speechless... I don't have words to explain my feelings about this place. I'm not interested in that stupid fridge anymore... I dont want it. I want something to be done to these people who are a disgrace to customer service in general. GAME in Paarl will always be a bad memory to me. Thanx for nothing.
