On 12 November 2021 I received a quotation and Pro Forma Invoice for the amount of R181 255,42 from Green Point Solar. An 80% deposit was required before work could commence. On 1 December 2021 I paid a deposit of R145 004,36. I was told by the sales representative that installation would possibly occur at the end of December. If not, then installation would occur in January of 2022. After numerous excuses without any installation by mid March 2022, I took the case to a lawyer and a letter of demand was sent on 22 March 2022. The owner (Hello Peter will not allow me to mention his name, so please do your due diligence and look up who the owner is - he is mentioned on the public domain, specifically LinkedIn) signed an acknowledgement of debt (Case No. 11678/2022) with my attorneys on 8 June 2022. He agreed to pay off the amount owing in small increments over the space of 18 months. He paid off the first installment at the end of June 2022, and thereafter reneged on the signed agreement. He changed lawyers but I managed to trace him and my lawyers sent another Acknowledgement of Debt, which he again signed. He again paid once and reneged on the deal. I have been in contact with 15 other victims, whom he also promised to pay back, so I suspect that his pyramid scheme collapsed and he was unable to pay back any monies owing. As per his previous con, he transfers all his assets into his families' names so that nobody gets anything in the case of liquidation. It is correct that the business is now closed due to this fact, plus the fact that he never paid his rent and he also neglected to pay some of his solar suppliers. Docket CAS 209/8/2022 at Villiera Police Station, Pretoria refers to one docket against him. Docket CAS 137/10/2022 at Vereeniging Police Station is another such instance. He has appeared in court on a number of occasions because of the fraud he perpetrated against his victims. To date, if legal fees are included, I am out of pocket over R200 000. PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS MAN OR ANY OF HIS FAMILY. RESEARCH HIS NAME AND STAY AWAY FROM ANYONE WITH THAT SURNAME.
Green Point Renewables came to my premises to assess my property for a solar installation. On 12 November 2021, I received a quotation and Pro Forma Invoice for the amount of R181 255,42. An 80% deposit was required before work could commence. On 1 December 2021 I paid a deposit of R145 004,36. I was told by the sales representative, Mr Ryno Eksteen that installation would possibly occur at the end of December. If not, then installation would occur in January of 2022. After numerous excuses without any installation, I took the case to a lawyer and a letter of demand was sent on 22 March 2022. Mr Marko Lemke signed an acknowledgement of debt with my attorneys on 8 June 2022. He agreed to pay off the amount owing. Mr Lemke paid off the first small installment at the end of June 2022, and thereafter reneged on the signed agreement. He then changed attorneys and we managed to get another small payment out of him before he reneged yet again. At the moment I am still out of pocket about R200 000 if I include my legal fees. It seems that he put property in his wife's name and assets in his son's name so that he can't be liquidated. Yes, he vacated the premises because he didn't pay his rent and it seems that the company closed down in about August 2022. He also never paid some solar suppliers. An all round shady character. Detective Ndala at Villiera Police Station, Pretoria can confirm a docket CAS 209/8/2022 in this regard. Another docket was opened at the Vereeniging Police Station CAS 137/10/2022. These are but a few of the dockets opened against him. I have details of quite a number of people who have had the misfortune of losing money to this character. This is not the first time that he has done this. He might open another company and do the same thing. It seems to be his modus operandi. Please be very careful of doing business with this man.
I suspect that this company has now closed anyway, but if you ever hear the name Marko Lemke, stay away. He seems to make a habit of opening companies, starts off well and then eventually just takes deposits without doing any installations. So many people are suing him that he now seems to have fled the country.
After waiting for 3 and half months from payment of my deposit at Green Point Renewables, I stumbled across LCP Solar. All faith in solar installers had been lost, but I took one last chance and got a quote from LCP Solar as well as a few other companies. They understood my requirements and quoted me on a system that was suitable for MY needs. His words to me were "I will look after you" and that is exactly what he did. He knew the predicament that I was in, and my a plan to expedite my installation. A week after final quotation he started the installation. The electrical work of his team is superb and the installation was exceptionally neat. So far, he has kept to his promise of "I will look after you". Exceptionally professional and brilliant at communicating with the clients, I will definitely recommend him. Faith restored.
I have had such a bad experience with this company that I am considering a class action lawsuit against them. If anybody has had similar bad experiences with them, please leave the details of the experience on the Solar PV South Africa Facebook group. I can then DM you.

I have seen past good reviews of this company, but my experience thus far has been very negative. After paying an 80% deposit on the 1st of December 2021, and being told that they would try to fit installation in before they closed, I was assured that installation would commence during the second week of January 2022. On the 6th of January 2022 I received a letter from Marko, stating that installations were delayed and that I would be contacted as soon as possible with a new installation date. This was not forthcoming (perhaps our ideas of "as soon as possible" differ). I phoned a number of times, left messages and sent emails, but struggled to get any firm answers besides that it would be delayed by about a week, then another and so on. Eventually I received a phone call from Lee, who gave me a firm installation date of 10 and 11 February 2022. On the afternoon of the 8th of February I received an email to say that my installation would be delayed by another 48 hours. Not sure if the company did installations during a weekend, I phoned to find out and was promised a return phone call the following day. On the afternoon of the 9th I phoned back because I had heard nothing. Again a promise to return my call. I phoned again on the 10th and on the 11th. Still no correspondence. This is only the latest in my struggles to get any answers. It has now been almost 2 and a half months since I paid my deposit and still no installation. I have business to conduct and cannot indefinitely put my life on hold because I am unsure of whether this company might keep it's word or not. Just keeping clients up to date and returning phone calls would already be a huge improvement. The company's website was down at the beginning of the year due to non-payment, which greatly concerned me. I tried to contact Ryno, the sales rep with whom I originally dealt, but since paying the deposit he has never answered his phone or called me back. I did, however, receive a Whatsapp answer to assuage my fears and soon afterwards their website was back up.
I wish it were possible to rate zero stars. That is what I would give KFC Arcon Park. Staff are rude and orders are constantly being mixed up. You don't notice immediately if you are paying with a card, and when you query the order and inform them that the order is incorrect, they refuse to help you, and insist that you get what is on your slip. By this time it is too late because you have already paid. Pathetic service, rude staff and food is not great.
I have been with Luno for quite a while and have generally been happy with the ease of use of the app, but I really think that for a company which is no longer new, support needs to be drastically improved. Luno had an issue on their site yesterday afternoon, and one of my transactions, which was pending, just disappeared. Because of the volatile nature of crypto, the length of time that it takes them to respond, could mean the loss of thousands of Rands. There is no way to contact them telephonically or to escalate any issues.
