Check your eggs: chances are they're underweight.
I've often wondered about the actual weight of the eggs that Woolworths claims to be a certain minimum weight. So today I bought 6 'Extra large' eggs' claimed to be more than 59 grams. Getting home. I weigehd each individual egg (I have a reliable scale). The eggs weighed, respectively. 52, 48. 50. 50 and 53 grams. The sixth was cracked, stuck to the box, and disintegrated when I tried to pick it up. Makes me wonder if you can trust any of Woolworths' claims.

Unexpected generosity and efficiency
During the uncer*****y occasioned by the pandemic, Tracey-Lee has been very efficient at sorting out the complications, and affording me a refund of a deposit. This was more than I'd bargained on, and I am very grateful.

They try harder, and mainly succeed.
I've had four different roofing companies in to fix a leaking flat roof. I could have written very scathing reviews of the first three, and probably should have, but missed my chance. So now, here's a favourable review for the fourth, WP Roofing, whose service was quick and reliable. I must confess, I've had to have them back three times, because it's a very elusive leak, but they always come back promptly and without any backchat. With these last rains, alas, some water did drip through again, and I'll have to contact them again. But it's good to know that they'll be back with their customary good grace. I'm keeping the fifth star for when the leak really stops.

Fibre woes: avoid Telkom!
After our area was readied for fibre, I applied for an installation from Telkom on the 19th of April. I was told that the installation would be done the following week. I have since phoned six times to follow up on my order, and every time I gt a different explanation -- the technicians didn't know my address, my area isn't fibre-ready (it very much is), my order has been referred to Special Investigations (not that that yielded any results), my complaint will be escalated to the supervisor (no result), the supervisor will phone me back (I'm still waiting). I'm ready to move on to another service provider. Another dysfunctional SOE?
