Choosing Ultra Solar for pool heater installations is a no brainer. They are just in a class of their own. The team is professional, efficient, effective, friendly, competent, positive. The company is honest and definitely not there just to make a quick buck. They go out of their way to deliver an exceptional service. 10 000 times thank you.
It is clear that Telkom is going the same route as Eskom, SAA and the SABC. In fact I am amazed that they are even still operating. Our nightmare, from which we have not woken up yet, started on the 11th of January 2019 when I mistakenly contact Telkom to upgrade our 100gig ADSL contract to an uncapped Fibre contract with free hardware, installation and activation. Vumatel being the fibre provider and Telkom the ISP. Vumatel did their part and by 14 January the installation was complete. We also received the Telkom Modem on the 14th of January and connected same as per the instructions received. We received an SMS from Telkom on the 18th of January confirming that the line has been activated. This was unfortunately not the case, in fact Telkom cancelled the ADSL line and did not activate the fibre line. Between the 18th of January and the 6th of February we probably spent 15 plus hours on the phone to Telkom trying to get things sorted. Every time speaking to someone who has no clue what he or she is doing and every time getting a different story. Eventually a very capable gentleman sorted us out the evening of 6 February 2019 or so we thought. We received a SMS confirming the service delivery issue stating that we will receive the necessary credits on the 3rd of March 2019. This unfortunately did not happen!! We received an invoice dated 4 February invoicing us for the ADSL line we did not have and R999.00 for D Link modem that was supposed to be free with the upgrade. We immediately contacted the accounts department and was told that they made a mistake and that everything will be corrected. With the next invoice dated 4 March 2019 it was even a bigger stuff up. They invoiced us once again for the ADSL line, they did not correct the previous errors and added costs for the Fibre installation, the line activation, Double charged us for both Vumatel Home Fibre and Telkom Home uncapped for February which is the same thing and then billed us again for March even though we have not even received the service. Again we contacted the accounts department and after holding on for more than an hour we decided to visit our local Telkom shop only to be told that they cannot do anything and that we need to contact the totally useless call centre. They at least offered to dail the number. After spending 45 minutes trying to explain what is wrong with our account they passed credits for the device, installation and activation fees, but told us that they will escalate the other charges. This all happened on the 20th of March 2019. One day later our Fibre speed dropped from the contracted 20mbps to 0.06Mbps. Trying to get hold of Telkom over the long weekend was just impossible and we had to wait until this morning Monday 25 March. After again holding on for more than an hour we were eventually told that they converted our uncapped Fibre line to a capped line, that we used up our data and that they throttling our usage. They acknowledged their mistake, told us that the issue will be resolved within 5 hours and gave us a reference number ********** . Obviously the fault was not corrected as promissed and we made another call but was told that they cannot tell us how long it will take to resolve and that we will receive a sms once solved, something we have heard a million times before without any feedback. Whatever you do never consider Telkom as your Fibre ISP, they have no idea what they are doing and unless you want to hit your head against a concrete wall everyday for the rest of your life just make use of someone else! Hopefully we will internet connectivity in our lifetime :(
Destinations unlimited Cape Town scam? I received a call last year offering vouchers to stay in Cape Town no strings attached - the call center agent said, but the only time I could collect the vouchers was on a spesific time during the day where after I informed them that it is not possible and unfortunately would not take up the offer. Tonight 18:46 I received a call from a very rude an pushy call center agent pretending to be the part owner of Destinations Unknown in Cape Town and when I told him I was not interested he became verbally abusive and would not take no for an answer he threatened to use my personal information on social media and damage my reputation as well as the reputation of the company I work for
