It's really sad what this has become. We went to one of Kathleen's "Info Sessions" last year when we found out that I was expecting As it will be my firstborn as well I do agree with the other reviews you don't want to go to a government hospital its really scary!! After the info session, we would have liked to discuss a few things with Kathleen and we had a few questions but it was not possible as there were maybe 8/9 other couples also at the session. So we called Kathleen the next week to get more info. We decided to use Kathleen's as our midwife - the women who will ensure that my safety and unborn baby safety comes first. After my mother also communicated with her we got a discount of R5000. Every other "check-ups" were R500 per check-up. She also needed R700 for blood tests do be done. The day we had to do my blood test we had not yet paid for it only the check-up, she refused to draw my blood until the R700 was paid. The R500 check-up consultation was not even 10mins long on most times. on the 5th of November, I had an appointment with Kathleen and she was informed about the pain I had only on my right side. The pain got worse as the days went on and every time we report it to her response is to take a pando and lay in a warm bath. Finally by the 11th of November 2019 around 8 PM my water broke but there was something wrong as there was blood coming out with the water. We immediately contacted Kathleen and her response was that I should take a shower not a bath and go to sleep my pain will start during the night and she will break my water the next day. We then told her that we are on our way to her! We arrived at her clinic and she investigated internally but she got very impatient with me and walked out of the room until I can allow her to investigate more if don't allow her she is going to take me to the hospital - putting me and my baba under more stress going to a government hospital. My baby was already in distress. We ended up at Thambo Memorial hospital where she drops all her patients. The next morning at 00:25 on the 12of November my baby was born by emergency c section. We almost lost our baby. I was informed by the doctors at the hospital that my placenta ruptured. She also advises you to eat lots of pineapples eat dates and use primrose evening oil to induce labor. After the birth, she gave me 2 free sessions. But I'm still really upset about the way we treated from the start. We are not "rich people" and it seems that certain people get treated more special! We never asked for the R5000 discount she offered. I always felt like she was better than us judging everything we say. She also said in the new year I must go back for the 6 weeks check-up but to date, I have not heard from her. She really made the whole experience really uncomfortable and terrible!
Our vehicle had a body issue with our steering rack that thorn out of the firewall. For this to be fixed/welded the engine must have been taken out. We have a checklist of when we booked the vehicle in that there are no problems with the engine but the body. After 2 weeks and no communication from them, we were told the vehicle went to a brake doctor we were never aware of this only when they said we can fetch the vehicle they are done but we got there and now we had engine problems. And then we were told the vehicle has to go BACK to the brake doctor we were NOT told that the vehicle left their premises and the brake doctor is an uncredited'mechanic' rather would say a s****yard by the looks of it. They then said they are going to get AA to inspect the vehicle to determine who caused the engine damages and that we have to pay for it. Today we had to pay the full amount to get our vehicle back in a very bad state we are definitely not done with these people they are highly unprofessional and uncommunicative. They are a bunch of amateurs please avoid this place for your own good.
My line has been down for more than 3 weeks now. I have phoned their call center everyday! 3 Weeks ago my line just went down when I phoned them they told me my line was struck by lightning which is actually a BIG LIE!! In the area I stay there are a lot of open serve bakkies and techs working, they are replacing the whole of Germiston cables. But Telkom wont tell me that!! They lie!! They cannot provide an service!! Everyday I phoned them they tell me that they will update their systems for techs to communicate with me and still NOTHING!!! I have to be on standby for work this December and I told them this is urgent! They do not care! Pathetic!
