I am extremely disappointed with the service I’ve received — and unfortunately, this is not the first time. On a previous visit, I was overcharged for a drink. When I asked the price, the staff member (a particular woman) was unsure but proceeded to charge me anyway. After trusting that the correct amount had been processed, I noticed the total seemed unusually high. I went back to check the fridge pricing and realised I had been overcharged by R8.00. When I addressed it, she refunded me, but this should not have happened in the first place. The second incident occurred today. I ordered a hot cappuccino with almond milk and paid. Within about a minute — with no queue behind me — I politely asked if I could change it to an iced coffee and offered to pay the difference. The same staff member refused, stating that they charge per cup and per ingredient, and that it “doesn’t work like that.” At that point, the coffee beans had not even been grinded and the drink had not been prepared. I work in the service industry myself, and this is not how customers should be treated. I was more than willing to pay the difference, and flexibility in such a simple request should not have been an issue. I also expect to be charged accurately without having to double-check that I’m not being overcharged. This experience has been very disappointing.
Absolutely poor service!!!! My friend ordered a glass of wine, had a sip and asked for it to be sent back as she didn’t enjoy the taste. The manager refused to replace it with another glass of her choice. Instead she had to pay for the glass that was sent back! After explaining to him that one of his waiters said “do not worry about it, I will sort it out” we were under the impression that the glass was replaced. When the bill came I questioned why we were charged for the glass send back. We were then approached by the manager named Craig and his words were I cannot let you not pay for a glass you sipped on. When explaining to him one of his staff said he will sort it out. The manager then said to us “well I will gladly go and fetch the glass of wine you sent back”. My goodness, if I am not happy with something I ordered I send it back. I shouldn’t be liable to pay for something I do not want! It’s about going the extra mile and making sure your guests are happy and comfortable! I’ve been to many fine dining restaurants and I’ve never received such poor service and attitude from a manager. The sarcasm I did not appreciate! This is not professional and I expected more from Cassia! Another thing, we ordered steak on the main course menu and it came back well done when we asked for medium! Yet, Cassia did not want to compensate us for a glass of wine ? You can imagine my frustration at this time with this restaurant! I am shocked and I’m really upset about it. I’ve been to Nitida multiple times and things have changed. I will not be back. And lastly, everyone had working tummies after their supper! ?
