SpeedAF Seems to be well known for failing to deliver AliExpress parcels, being uncontactable, and effectively "Acquiring" the customs duty payments when they fail to deliver your parcel. . Like most, I've recently been one of their victims and after days of trying to get in touch with them, I gave up. They failed to deliver a parcel but marked it as delivered. Luckily AliExpress refunded and I was able to order a replacement (which i received). However, like many of the complaints I read, SpeedAF took over 50% of the items value in customs duty and as they didn't deliver the parcel, they seem to be planning to keep that money as they ignore all messages to their WhatsApp number and phone number and don't have an email address and have zero footprint on the internet for South Africa. I did speak to someone at SpeedAF on WhatsApp eventually but his English was almost understandable and he kept blaming Miele Logisitcs for the customs duty so I'm not clear on where they fit into this pyramid. I did learn something through the process of trying to track them down and that is they don't really have a presence in SA, they use Breaze Delivery company as their local delivery partner who in turn use Shiprazor Limited to do the actual delivery. I spoke to Shiprazor Limited customer service and they basically blamed SpeedAF and told me to contact them about my missing customs payments. The founders of Breaze are Braden Snyman and Avi Maja. The Founder of Shiprazor is Sahil Affriya so if you have missing parcels from SpeedAF and are unable to contact them, those individuals might be able to help. With regard to SpeedAF, it seems like they could be on the wrong side of the law with how they operate. They are taking customs payments with no breakdown of what the fees are for and withholding the parcel until you pay. Once you have paid, it is not possible to get an invoice for your payment so you are unable to claim the VAT or any tax deductible costs from SARS. The fact that they charge over 50% of the items value ,indicates they are applying some kind of admin fee because with VAT at 15%, it's unlikely that all items have additional duties of over 35% (We've all ordered from SHEIN and Temu so have a feel for how much duties should be), so it seems like there is some shady practice going on. We're going to speak to SARS about SpeedAF as I'm sure SARS will also want to know where our customs duty is if it hasn't been paid to them or back to us. Until then, we won't be ordering anything from AliExpress, who, if they care about their SA customers, will boot SpeedAF into touch. Good luck to everyone who has been a victim of SpeedAF
After 10 years with Afrihost for all my families' phones and more recently 5G internet, I've just discovered that Afrihost have been ripping me off. I signed up to their Pure 5G Uncapped product in January after having done detailed research into the small print and thought I'd got a great deal: Uncapped 5G with a 2000GB FUP limit before being throttled. R950 a month. Felt like a great deal. Everything went great, it was easy to setup and apart form the occasional outage, all was good with the world. That was until June when suddenly in the last week of the month, the internet stopped working. Afrihost used to have great customer service (which is a big part of why I chose them) but like other ISPs have abandoned their customer service phone, email and webchat channels to only allow Whatsapp. I spent close to a week talking to agent after agent trying to get the internet back on. It turned out I had been incorrectly throttled at 1TB so after days of speaking to people, the new month started and the internet went back to normal speed (Clearly Afrihost had done nothing the week before). I was promised by Afrihost that this had been some kind of error and MTN had made changes at their end and next month there'd be no issue. A month on, it is now the 24th of the month and they have cut my internet again (throttled to ****b so completely useless for even basic surfing). I'm unable to work from home, I can't watch television and non of my home automation is working, so I contacted Afrihost again who seem to have had a complete loss of memory from last month and now tell me all of their products throttle at 1TB regardless of the email I have confirming my limit was 2TB. I have been fully ****med by Afrihost and they have done nothing to try and remedy it. When I send them the email I got (from them) confirming my 2TB limit (it says it on the order confirmation email I received when I signed up in big bold letters) they say that's not the FUP it's "another limit" on my uncapped product! SO, I bought an UNCAPPED 5G product from Afrihost which has a 2TB limit, which is impossible to use as you are throttled at 1TB and can't use the internet so it's IMPOSSIBLE to use the 2TB limit or the UNCAPPED element of the product. This is an outright **** and South African's should watch out for Afrihost as they literally couldn't care less. Needless to say, I'm cancelling all of my families products with them, reporting them to ICASA, taking them to small claims for a full refund and making sure anyone who will listen moving forward are warned about Afrihost.
Cancelled one of my services with Webafrica and had to return my 'Free To Use" router. Paid them R299 for them to pick it up. They sent a courier to collect and then charged me R2,000 for not returning it. Contacted them 8 times just to be fobbed off by their pathetic Whatsapp service centre. They would get no stars if it was an option. They used to be so good and now they just don't care about their customers or providing any level oiif service,., Judging by the comments on HelloPeter, they'll probably be out of business within a year.
Like so many other reviews I was also caught out by Huntalot. They are clearly a dropshipper who actually doesn't carry stock but doesn't tell you that when you order. I ordered a rifle and a bunch of accessories. I got a call from customer service to advise some items were out of stock and the lady helped me change a couple of things so they could process the order as in stock. I thought it was great service and had left 3 weeks to my hunting trip so was impressed. That's where it ended. The follow up email told me it would be 10 working days and they actually didn't have stock and my items would be sent from "The Warehouse" (which is clearly the manufacturers warehouse and not theirs). After 3 weeks, I had to contact them and get a refund as their 10 working days was clearly nonsense, I even had to chase for the refund as they told me 9 working days and I left it until 12 working days to chase and finally got payment. So they held onto my money for other a month and no doubt picked up a nice bit of interest on it. A massive waste of my time! Why lie about it? If you don't have stock, just say so, surely it's more work and effort to deal with unhappy customers because you made promises you can't keep.
Uber Eats order ****** once again by one of their ***** drivers. They won't do anything so me and the restaurant get ********** and they get paid. Uber has failed in SA
Jacques and his team recently block paved my driveway and created me a fire pit and paved braai area. If only all South African companies worked this way! Jacques came and measured up, I got the quote the net morning and accepted. Jacques ordered materials and just over a week later 9amazing during lockdown) his team arrived to do the job. Johann the foreman was on site none stop while work was underway and checked in with me on how I wanted things or if there was opportunities to make things look better he would let me know. The paver Connection team worked like Trojan and in just 5 days we had a new driveway and braai area. 6 months later now and I have zero complaints, the workmanship is top notch and I wouldn't use anyone else in the future. I would recommend the Paver Connection team without hesitation.
<div>Re-posting my review as Osidon asked HelloPeter to remove the review as they claimed it was fake! I wasn't able to provide HelloPeter with my evidence in time (48 hours) but will this time. Quite quickly after I started my business I decided I should get an accountant and saw one of the adverts from Osidon on Facebook. Their website seemed to be just what I was looking for at a price I could afford so I subscribed. That was the worst mistake I made for my business to date. The first interaction was that I was allocated an "accountant" and had a welcome call with him, it wasn't a great call but he gave me my links to use XERO (some accounting software you can use yourself without Osidon) so I linked my bank account and we were up and running, so far so good. Then the first red flag, my first accountant abruptly quit Osidon and I received a mail (no call) to say I now had a new accountant. 2 in a month, not such a great start. Things really started to fall apart when my new business grew and I hit R1m in revenue and needed to register for VAT, I sent a mail to my accountant who told me they could deal with that but I would need to upgrade my subscription (a big hike form what I was already paying). I did it (as I had no choice) and asked him to get me registered without delay. Red flag number 3, they were suppose to register me for VAT around October and had done nothing until I chased them in December (you are supposed to register for VAT immediately when you cross the R1m revenue threshold). They eventually did it and promised me that they would take responsibility for any fines from SARS. I could go on about their failures but the final straw was that despite being my dedicated accountants, they managed to pay my VAT bill for the wrong months resulting in me not paying the correct amount of VAT and receiving a fine from SARS for more than R5,000. Despite the fact that Osidon admitted their mistake, they now say they have "No liability" for the fine from SARS. I have raised this as a complaint with their founder and COO who has taken no accountability for her companies failure. To put the icing on the cake, several weeks after I had terminated my contract with this incompetent company, my Osidon ex-accountant logged into my financial records (I have evidence of his unauthorised logon) and did goodness knows what with my private financial data. I raised this also with the Osidon COO and she has offered no explanation or action despite me highlighting a case of potential fraud to them. If after reading this, you're still considering partnering with Osidon for your business, I strongly suggest you read their Google reviews. I'm sure Osidon will now apply again to have my review removed from Hellopeter and/or respond to say my review is not factual or is one sided etc. etc. Read all the reviews then make your own mind up.</div>
I have been investing with Livestock Wealth for a couple of years and have always been happy, they even sent me a livestock bull as a gift! It seems to be that the second they became a registered FSP that the company fell apart. They have been holding R21,000 of my cash since October and I've tried many times to contact them and have raised a withdrawal request 6 times. They even phoned me to tell me they were processing the refund which turned out to be lies as I didn't receive it. I can only assume they are on the brink of bankruptcy or this has turned out to be come kind of scam. I was left with no choice in January other than to raise a complaint with the FSCA as an attempt to get my money back. Such a shame that such a great idea for a business and crowdfunding investment which created jobs and helps South African farmers has failed to keep it's side of the bargain and has chosen not to communicate with it's previously loyal customers.
DO NOT SUBSCRIBE TO OSIDON!!!! Quite quickly after I started my business I decided I should get an accountant and like most people who get sucked in, saw one of the adverts from Osidon on Facebook. Then the first red flag, my "accountant" (they don't seem to be actual qualified accountants, I think they're trainees reporting into an actual accountant) abruptly quit and I received a mail (no call) to say I now had a new accountant. 2 in a month, not such a great start. Over the coming months I dutifully captured all of my transactions in XERO and once a month my accountant asked for my bank statements to do what he called "reconciliation", My new accountant now tells me that is a completely pointless exercise as the bank accounts are linked so how could they be different from the bank statement? Other than that Osidon did nothing. Red flag number two My business grew and i soon hit R1m in revenue and needed to register for VAT, I sent a mail to my accountant who told me they could deal with that but I would need to upgrade my subscription to almost double what I was paying now. I did it (as I had no choice) and asked him to get me registered without delay. Red flag number 3, they were suppose to register me for VAT around October and had done nothing until I chased them in December (you are supposed to register for VAT immediately when you cross the R1m threshold). They eventually did it and promised me that they would take responsibility for any fines form SARS. I could go on about their continued failures but the final straw was that despite being my dedicated accountants, they managed to pay my VAT bill for the wrong months resulting in me not paying the correct amount of VAT and receiving a fine from SARS for more than R5,000. Despite the fact that Osidon admitted their mistake and even fixed the situation in the accounting package, they now say they have "No liability" for the fine from SARS!!!! I have raised this as a complaint with their founder and COO Melissa Ferreira and she has done nothing to resolve the situation. To put the icing on the cake, after I had finally got rid of this completely incapable company and found an actual qualified accountant who knows what they're doing, my Osidon ex-accountant logged in to my financial records (There is an access record in the software so I could see he had been into the accounts but not what he had done) and did god knows what with my private business financial data. I raised this also with the Osidon COO and she has offered no explanation or action despite me highlighting a case of potential fraud to them. I'm sure like they have with their other victims on Google reviews they'll now comment on how in some way failing to pay my VAT for the correct period, illegally accessing my private financial data after my contract ended with them and refusing to pay the SARS fines which they created is some how my fault or because I was some kind of difficult customer blah blah blah. That couldn't be further from the truth. If you're considering subscribing to Osidon (Poseidon would be more fitting), then don't take my word for it that that is a terrible idea, read the rest of the Google reviews and then call your local accountant who will charge you half the price for 10 times the service. You can subscribe to Zero for R350 per month which is all you're basically doing with an Osidon subscription as it's the only part of their service that works.
I bought a graphics card in February and contacted them via Whatsapp to make sure it was in stock. Johan replied saying it was in stock and could be there within 3-5 days, he even sent me a link to make payment. 2 weeks later I contacted customer services and Jamie told me the item was not in stock but would be sent the next day when it arrived with them. I contacted them 43 times over the next 2 weeks and they stopped replying to messages completely when I asked them for a tracking number after the item showed as dispatched on their website. I got my bank to do a chargeback and got my money back. Don't take no for an answer from your bank, they can easily arrange refund and are obliged to do so.
