They advertise a service they do not provide, and will not give refunds when one is mislead into paying for a service they falsely advertise.
Ordering my academic record/transcript from UJ has been impossible using their own online service. They are the only service provider so one has to pay the inflated cost for printing a piece of paper and shipping which is above even the worst courier rates. Three months since ordering my academic record my addressee received a letter stating I graduated from UJ and nothing else. No details of classes attended nor grades obtained. When ordering UJ states it takes 10 business days to process. Three months later and still they cannot provide their own service. When I went to UJ, ordering transcripts used to be free not R850 or $65 to have it printed and shipped in an incorrect manner. When I order a transcript to be shipped to an address here in the USA, overnight service is available. What service is UJ providing? The Ombud does not take complaints seriously, nor managers that I have reached out to. 1. Why pay to study at UJ when one cannot get a copy of one's Academic Record 3 months down the line? 2. Why does UJ appeal to Alumni for donations when they cannot provide Alumni with a basic service?
