On Thursday, 2 January 2025 my Family and I (12 people) visited Mac Banana - a venue we regularly visited when we were on holiday in the South Coast of KwaZulu Natal. To our surprise the venue has deteriorated in terms of infrastructure and service. It was a hot day and there was no air-conditioning. The restaurant had 3 fans that were not coping at all and the management continued to allow more customers into the facility. The menu, likewise was limited and we had no other choice but to order their pancakes which were half baked and cost something in the region of R150 per serving. Even the standard French Fries (chips) were not available. The venue is also a fire hazard, it has thatching as part of it interior decor - a major fire risk. The animal holdings were appalling. The ponies literally had a stable were they could barely move. the other animal holdings were a health hazard to the animals - poorly kept and the stench was revolting. All in all it as a nasty experience and will never visit this site again. We advise all future travelers to avoid this place. Two members of the family suffered heat stroke and fortunately quick action at our hotel helped resolve a serious medical problem. Please stay away from this venue.
On Wednesday (1st January 2025) evening (21h00) my family and I chose to dine at Maltos Restaurant. Amongst other Mediterranean delicacies we ordered 2 large Magarita Pizzas only to find that they were Chicken based. This was a violation of our Religious Rights, primarily because we are strict vegetarians. We approached the Waitron who serviced us during our short stay at Maltos and requested her to refer the Manager to our table. The manager approached me with a very belligerent attitude and informed me that he was sorry but could do nothing about the matter. He refused to give me his name nor his cell number. All we wanted as a family was an apology with a note that said that Maltos can assure us that such an error would not happen again. He was arrogant and refused to acknowledge any wrong doing. Under the circumstances, I am writing to you with the following demands: 1. The Manager sends me a personal apology and shows proof that it is on their website. 2) The manager provides the Soni Family with a Coupon for Supper (same meal as requested on 1st January 2025 for 12 persons) at any Sun International Resort in KwaZulu Natal)
