3rd time I made an extraordinarily positive experience with this company! I had ordered some dining chairs from them online but after they arrived, I found they did not really go well with my table. So I entered a return online and they arranged the collection within just 2 days and a few days later they fully refunded the payment. Myrna Frantz was extremely professional in all respects and made this whole back and forth an overall relaxed experience.
Very good shop offering a stunning range of chairs at very reasonable prices. Service staff also very nice and helpful - even after having to change all the chairs as the previous one did not fit in, they arranged everything smoothly.
I long-term rented an apartment from them at Leckhampton Court, 234 Kloof Road, Clifton, Cape Town and after moving out they just withheld my rental deposit and did not reply to emails anymore. When asking about their physical address in order to file a complaint at the Rental Housing Tribunal a full month later, their agency even claimed to not have that address (of their own customer). Their website brettlatimer.com is empty and the website owner's address is hidden by a Canadian registrar stating "Contact Privacy Inc. Customer 0122807475" instead of their real address. In view of all these circumstances, I entertain suspicion that the withholding of my rental deposit was done with intent, so I have made a report at Cape Town police. Should there be other victims out there, who have made similar experiences with the Brett Latimer Family Trust, please come forward.
Warning! We paid a rental deposit of R62 000 to them and never got it back! No refund and no replies from them whatsoever for a whole month after moving out, until threatening them with legal action. But even then they tried to make excuses of some "repair costs" that were simply not justified at all. You may want to google Brett Latimer (originally from Durban and apparently involved in shady activities also there, according to major SA media reports). Stay away from them and their agency Dogon Group! Police involved to investigate their real address as they refuse to state it even after requesting it on behalf of the court. After the police investigation, the Rental Housing Tribunal will hopefully order them to refund our unlawfully withheld deposit (if they haven't meanwhile spent it on something else).
Obviously a very unreliable company offering poor services, as many others suggested. Also in our case, promises like "I will follow up on this in the afternoon" or "I will call you later this morning to discuss" were made by one of their lawyers (Wesley Graham) for several days in a row but none of them was ever kept. Lol, say something and then just completely ignore it? Quite an interesting way of doing business. Also heard that they tend to work with rather shady clients and their director Martin Sheard appears to play a major role in these dubious activities. I can only strongly recommend to stay away from them.
