Claim
My father passed away while he was awaiting his Illheath benefit from Sibanye Stillwaters. We were then told to claim his beneft as his children. We have been made to run around just to find the medical certificate and all other required documents and after submiting everything when I made a follow up i was told that they did not receive the medical certificate, when I explained that we sent all the requed document the checked and confirmed that they found the certificate. It was in 2019 when we submitted the claim document but still havent received any feedback. When we call we are not given an concreate answer. Our dad died of TB he got from the chemicals for the mine and they cared less about that. This company uses pepole and and when they are sick the dump them to die. My father worked as a mine worker since 1970s and he got sick few years back with TB. He couldn't work due to ill-health. He then died in 2018. He was still awaiting his illhealth money when he died. My brother and I were advised to claim on his behave and my brother claim this year. We submitted all the required documents including medical documents proving that he had TB when he left the employer. We just received an sms yesterday to say that the claim has been declined due to my father not being medical ineligible. But they have all the proof they asked for. And they did not even bother to call the just sent an SMS. Not so long ago they told us that the pay out will be made ib January.
