My father passed away while he was awaiting his Illheath benefit from Sibanye Stillwaters. We were then told to claim his beneft as his children. We have been made to run around just to find the medical certificate and all other required documents and after submiting everything when I made a follow up i was told that they did not receive the medical certificate, when I explained that we sent all the requed document the checked and confirmed that they found the certificate. It was in 2019 when we submitted the claim document but still havent received any feedback. When we call we are not given an concreate answer. Our dad died of TB he got from the chemicals for the mine and they cared less about that. This company uses pepole and and when they are sick the dump them to die. Anyone that can help please contact me on 0796380040

Sibanye stillwater is the worst company to work for, my husband was medical borded and they took him off his medical aid and they expect him to live of R700 000 for the rest of his life, he will never be able to work again and they medical borded him and the refuse to pay his medical aid and they don't even give hi 75% of his salary monthly they just cut him off like he is worth nothing after more than 15 year of service.

I have an unsatisfying issue with the “housing” division of Sibanye Stillwater Driefontein. My mother’s house electricity got switched off on Monday 1st July, just before lunch time. She called and notifies me of this incident, I then called Lapies to understand what was going on. Lapies explained that my mother owed a bill worth R12 226.30. This was never once explained to my mother after she resigned from the mine that she would be taking over, how much on a monthly she would pay/be billed or where she would even need to pay for utilities going forward. None of this was done. Lapies claimed that they had been sending letters, but we never received any letter from them or any email for that matter. I questioned Lapies how we got that bill because my mother was given an additional housing “allowance” after she retired for 3 months. She then decided to buy the house as opposed to moving out. No one ever said anything about utilities being moved to her. I am not disputing her paying for utilities, just not when my mother was never made aware of anything then boom she’s sitting on a R12k+ bill. Can we please look into this as it’s not entirely her fault for things to get to this extent. We were then referred to Joseph and he confirmed that she was over billed but he needs to investigate/look into it. Today marks 3 weeks of her in the cold with no basic need (Electricity). We called and asked if her power could be restored whilst Joseph is busy looking into this matter but it was declined. My mother and father both worked and served for this company (Sibanye) for years to be honestly treated like this. She’s very sickly, on chronic medication and has been without electricity in this cold for the past 16 days and she’s unable to even make a mere meal. We are unable to call as the number is always “engaged “ or not answered. We personally drove there on the 10th of July and found the gates closed with no notice. We’ve also asked that her electricity be restored until the investigation is complete then we can make arrangements but it was refused, and what grounds I am not sure. This is totally wrong and unacceptable. Can this matter be resolved urgently, I ask. Thank you

My father passed away in a horrific mine explosion working in the mine. I have been made to run around just for the fun of it I guess but still no real answers. The mine does not take responsibility for it's workers they only care as long as they are still able to get gold for them as soon as they die in those same mine shafts the say it's not Rand mutuals problem. No proper investigation no accountability nothing. Things have to change in this industry their gold is laced with the blood of our fathers and we have nothing to show for it. There was never anything just the head of my father in parts because he was blown up.

Absolutely shocking procurement department. We have been waiting for months for payment. Every week is another issue with their coupa system. Stay away from doing business with them

Sibanye Stillwater does not care about youth entrepreneurs or assisting them in anyway. We have gone there back and forth trying to get vendor numbers. You are greeted by the most dismissive mine engineers who write beautiful profiles on Linkedin but in reality they are just rude. The engineer at shaft 3 didn't even look at me while I was pitching my business, he looked at his computer and continued typing as if I was not there. What must we do to get these vendor number and feed our families and community?

Since February 2020, one of Sibanye Stillwater's houses ( 87 Reinecke Street Carletonville) is abandoned. The previous resident left the mine. Since then the mine just left the house unattended without any security. on the evening of 15 March 2020 we pick up that there is somebody vandalizing the house ( we live next door in 89 Reinecke Street), as they try to steal our one security beam. we got hold of our private security company, but the vandals got way. The next day we pick up that the taps were stolen and the water was running out of the taps. My son and myself try to close the municipal valve , but we could only do it up to a point. We also pick up that the back door was not locked, so I went and lock it with my own lock. The security company contacted the mine about the house, but they did nothing. there were looters several times in the house afterwards. the Carletonville Herald even put an article in the newspaper about this house and contacted the mine without any response. the looters came back and broke open one of the windows burglar proofing to enter the house. they came back afterwards and broke of the padlock I put on. All the inside doors, all the taps, all the wiring, including two DB boards as well as the all the piping is stolen. what worries me is that Sibanye Stilllwater cares for the community, but here they are creating a crime hot spot. South Africa is a water poor country and the Carletonville area is well known for its sink holes and dolomite ground, but there is thousands of liters of waters just running away and seeping into the ground. I left this message here because of the fact that I did not get any response, and see this as a next step in reporting this matter.
