My father passed away in a horrific mine explosion working in the mine. I have been made to run around just for the fun of it I guess but still no real answers. The mine does not take responsibility for it's workers they only care as long as they are still able to get gold for them as soon as they die in those same mine shafts the say it's not Rand mutuals problem. No proper investigation no accountability nothing. Things have to change in this industry their gold is laced with the blood of our fathers and we have nothing to show for it. There was never anything just the head of my father in parts because he was blown up.

I have contacted the mine and they referred me to Rand mutual I have and had been contacting Rand mutual bit they have given me and my mother a serious run around with no results. I have spoken to a lady called bennedat and she is not clear about thing instead she has been sending people from departments that have nothing to do with my questions to call me. I have asked a simple question that they refuse to answer my question is when a mine worker dies in such a horrific way what is the procedure they are in charge of dealing with such matters that's what the mine said. This lady at Rand mutual is even denying that my mother has been to their offices Soo many times wanting to request funds for my education. The only amount that was paid to our family is workman's compensation of R13000 and the savings from teba that my father had been saving. I am not sure why they won't humble themselves and just explain we are people and our parents are here to pave the way for us but when the mine took my father's life without any compassion they also took mine and my mothers. Please respect us and our lives. My father was not a machine he was a person and his strength and dignity exploded with him in that mine and the organizations responsible never cared. Just how many people are going through this because Rand mutual and federated employers mutual only care about money and their profits.
Hi, I have problem to get anyone at kloof gold mine division that deals with death claims payouts, my father was working for leeudoorn mine which was consolidated into one mine called kloof gold mine, eversince the death of my late father who worked for them and died in mine accident nothing was paid until today, time of death is 1993. When I call they do not answer .
My matter is still yet to be resolved, as soon as it solved ,I will let everyone on hellopeter to know that alexforbes can fix their mistakes
I found out about my deceased father's pension/provident preservation fund under Alexforbes in 2021. I contacted them and was told to go and get his service record because Alex Forbes needs his industry number, that was ok so I made the long trip to get it. I came back and communicated with Alex Forbes they started to deny my late father as one of their members. This went on for a good year and a half until I got angry and posted a bad review on their Facebook page. On the same day they miraculously found my father to be a member and I got a phone call from Alex Forbes from a very rude and angry girl who then sent me the application forms and proceeded to ignore any future emails from me. I needed help in understanding or at least just someone to explain how the whole process works. To cut the long story short I have had to fight for things to move. However the problem is now this, Alex Forbes needs my late father's tax number to make the payout. My father passed away in 1993 and held a transkie passport at the time of his death as he was from transkie, come 1994 things integrated and people got South African ID numbers, this was not the case for my father as he had passed away, he died in a mine explosion and had his ID with him. So Alex Forbes needs SARS to generate a tax number for my late father, SARS can't do this without a South African ID number and home affairs does not generate ID numbers for dead people. However, there is an industry number of that time. I went to sars explained the situation and they said it's a special case so a tax directive has to be app**** by the administrator/trustees in this case Alexforbes. I emailed the response back to Alex Forbes and got no response for over a week then I sent another email, in response alexforbes said they will not be contacting SARS and if I don't provide the tax number then they will put the claim on hold. They called me last Monday after another bad review on Facebook A girl called Chastry said they have told the principal officer and they would get back to me by Friday this did not happen. She also said that I am not the only one with this type of case there are a lot of people who have members who passed away between 1993/4, this means there a lot of people families suffering and these funds can really change their lives. By now I really think there should be a solution if they are encountering the same problem over and over with the ex miners funds. We are people and Alexforbes does not see us a such they are all about themselves and profits. SARS has a solution I am giving Alex Forbes 48hours to resolve this because I am not going into a forth year with you people, or i am going on 702. Alexforbes let's be accountable and ethical.
