I have submitted my exit claim and my application is still standing on verification stage. Ive called several times and even send an email of my identification. But no response and no update on my application. They dont comply with their turn around time and the financial advisor assigned to my case doesnt even follow up. Im so frustrated as i cant get any way forward with my claim

I am extremely frustrated and dissatisfied with the unacceptable level of service I have received from Alexander Forbes regarding my late father’s funds that are due to me.In 2025, I lodged a complaint and was contacted by their team, who requested supporting documents. I fully comp**** and submitted everything required. I was then informed that my case would be investigated. However, since then, there has been complete silence. Despite numerous follow-ups via email and phone calls, I have been ignored. No updates, no feedback, and no indication that my matter is being treated with the urgency and seriousness it deserves. This lack of communication and accountability is both unprofessional and disrespectful. This is not just a simple query — it involves funds that I am rightfully entitled to, and the continued delay and disregard raise serious concerns about how Alexander Forbes handles client matters. If this issue is not addressed urgently, I will have no choice but to escalate this matter further to the relevant regulatory authorities and pursue all available avenues to resolve it. I demand immediate feedback, a clear update on the status of my claim, and a timeline for resolution. This matter has gone on for far too long.

I am lodging this public complaint regarding a claim initiated on 30 January 2026. Despite receiving a claim received confirmation SMS on 4 February , there was an "alleged payment that bounced (which was made known to me after I took liberty of calling several times and only getting proper feedback on 26th February. My claimis stuck in payment mode for the 17th February (as per their portal ). I was initially informed of a "missing document" (Proof of account) on 26th Feb - which I provided. I have been waiting since then only to get told again yesterday on 17 March - 6 WEEKS after the process began that my ID copy is also required (which was not communicated to me by Alex Forbes ) . The level of negligence is unacceptable for a leading financial institution. I have re-submitted all requested documents I was promised an "escalation" by a consultant I spoke to and that she would provide feedback by 19th March. The level of financial struggle I am experiencing due to this delayed payout is unimaginable. I am unable to even pay my tuition which I have communicated in all the calls made to the consultants. Required Action : I require an immediate Proof of Payment (POP) today. I am no longer accepting excuses as a justification for a 45-day delay caused by internal communication failures.

I held Alexandra Forbes in high esteem until the past month when I experienced the worst customer services , incompetence and unprofessionalism. I sent an inquiry and received feedback to send paperwork when I did, I was given a nonsensical reply from another consultant; saying I need to contact my previous employer's HR, I have not work for that employer in 5 years and the exit protocol required HR to complete the withdrawal notice which they did and I have confirmation of it - this reply was contradictory to the initial responses I received. The worst part is all communication was on the same email trail with the same reference number so the second person who rep**** to me did not even read and fami****ise her/himself with his/ her colleague's previous replies. IT IS GROSS INCOMPETENCE. They are unable to honour their promise to attend to queries in 48 hours and don't bother yourself with calling because their line is jammed most likely due to the high volume of frustrated clients. And if you follow the "call back" option , no one will within 24 hours as they promised.

Bad service unpaid benefits Claims, waiting for over & more than 8 weeks that the payout been promised, customer service can't tell me the hold up. Funds disinvested seating with A Forbes to be released and they seating on their chairs doing nothing!

Alexander Forbes *****sters and ****mers be aware of Alexander Forbes . Please guys if you reading this inform you family and friends and employers to reconsider taking out life and disability covers with other insurance companies and rather not with Alexander Forbes. They use incorrect doctors dates to repudiate your claim. They even go as far as to get employers to send false medical information framing your disability as a pre existing condition. Alexander Forbes works with the National Financial Ombud Scheme South Africa to repudiate your claim even if you have legitimate medical documents and evidence. This is a disgusting insurance company. They will patronize you with regards to your complaints on hello Peter just so as to fool the public. In the meantime they do not review your complaints. Stay away from these guys you think you are insured when in reality you are not insured with these guys. These guys are legally sucking people's monies in an ******* way.
