On 28 Sept 2015 my mother had an appointment with this optometrists in the Lifestyle Building, Lyttelton. An advert was placed in the news paper specifying a price of R1199.00 for Multifocal glasses. My mother specifically asked the receptionist if there would be price change if she takes her own set of frames and she said no, the price will stay the same. When we got there, Regina took my mother to choose a frame. Then she showed my mother a couple of frames that she could choose from, but she could not choose a frameless frame because that will cost extra. Okay no problem. The Optometrist, asked if she could call my mother on her name. I got a bit irritated because the optometrist is obviously younger than me. Next minute the optometrist said that the special is only for lenses up to a strength of 4.5 and my mother's prescription is higher, therefore the price will increase with R400.00. I said to the optometrist that it would have been nice if the advert specified that. With a bad attitude she said it was printed \terms and conditions"and I can phone the owner if I want to complain. She rushed through the eye test and told us to pay a deposit of R850.00. Get your ads right!"""
The past weekend, we spend time at the above mentioned Lodge. Whawh! what an experience. We arrived after dark at the main gate. Someone was sent to escort us to the lodge. We were welcomed by the entire friendly staff with warm wet cloths to wipe our hands before a sherry was offered and the premises was showed to us. We were given the change to freshen up before sitting down for dinner. The hosts, Derrick and Belinda were waiting for us to arrive in order to serve us with a lovely 3 course meal. For the entire weekend we were spoiled by not only the owners but also the staff. The knowledge of the game ranger, Klaas, was out of this world and he manage to add some African history also that made every game viewing trip worth while. Well done to every one at Phumelelo Lodge! It is a small, exclusive lodge with superior service from every one and far enough to get away form the masses to enjoy nature at its best.
The above mentioned Education provider claims to be of service to many students for several years. I beg to differ. My daughter started a short secretarial course with them beginning 2014. according to the agreement we signed, the course would last 18 months, but if she worked faster, she will get it done in less time and will therefore be billed accordingly. Stating specifically that should she finish all the required assignments before the end of the estimated time, she will get discount accordingly. Needless to say, this was a challenge to her and she worked hard, handing in her final assignment in middle January 2015. Since then she has not received any feedback on that assignment. Every time we enquired, we were told to send the assignment again, because they did not receive it, lost it, etc. With each submission of the last assignment we, also forwarded the proof of previous submissions of the same assignment. We are standing now on the 3rd month that College SA asked for payment,(according to them) they did not receive the last assignment. My husband contacted them numorus times via e-mails and phone calls. We will take legal action against them if we don't get results
