Would give 0 stars if I could I had a follow up consult with dermatologist on 17 Feb 2026, as per recommendation by my oncologist twice a year for 2 years. Oncology basket activated. Another spot was found and biopsy done, then and there In rooms. Result, basal skin cancer which was duly removed on 25th February. Now discovery has refused to pay for biopsy, as pre auth was not done. How does a patient know she has skin Cancer, BEFORE CONSULTATION? Explanation from discovery, biopsy procedure is covered under RISK, not oncology, which is why pre auth was required. This should be paid from my oncology basket! Auth approved now, 18th March, 2 weeks after contact with discovery, number 33104149, and because of late pre auth submission , discovery will only pay 70%? I DO NOT ACCEPT THIS and want the claim paid in full from my oncology basket. Not 70% from risk? Why do discovery decline, first, delay payments, and make patients fight for what is rightfully theirs? RESPONSE PLEASE AND WHEN PAYMENT WILL BE MADE. Despite my review on 15th, nothing has been resolved, and my miles due to me have not been paid. Shocking, ***********, bully, corporate. What do you say now?
Discovery Vitality was cancelled ending 30 June. However vitality is paid one month jn advance, so effectively I paid for month of June, and therefore any Miles earned during June are due to me. Vitality now inform me that I am not due any miles because I cancelled. What utter nonsense , I paid for month of June, and therefore you owe me my miles. Pay what is owed to me? I await your response
Discovery would get zero stars if it was an option. Per telephone call today at 9.30am with nondumiso, enquiring why discovery rejected a claim from my oncology benefit, for a lymph node biopsy. Reason given DISCOVERY only do out of hospital procedures. Explained that it was done at morton and partners I.e. out of hospital...they do xrays, ultrasounds, biopsies , etc.. Um that is where I had it done, not in hospital??????? She tried to speak to pre authorisation, and they too DECLINED payment. Asked nondumiso to get a client relation manager to phone me back in 30 Mins. CANT BE DONE , TURN AROUND TIME 24/48 HOURS. DISCOVERY YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED, EMBARASSED, HORRIFIED AT YOUR INCOMPETENCE. I expect a call today to get this sorted because I absolutely do not accept that your first response is ALWAYS DENY PAYMENT..... you have your call centre doing that doing very well. NOW do the job of actually paying for a service that we as clients pay monthly for!!!!! Waiting for response BE careful of discovery
Once again discovery medical aid doing what they do best....DELAYING tactic not to refund client, with an authorisation number for a payment from oncology benefit. Outstanding from 11 march 2 different agents, Anneline on 11th and Lindelwa on 2oth march , pushing papers around a desk, no communication between consultants, even though same department , delaying and not paying? DISCOVERY what do you have to say for yourself? PAY BACK MY MONEY
I bought a pair of shoes on 1 September 2024. Hardly worn....they look like they literally exploded, broke completely in half....went to get my money back, with slip, and esme from Bayside said she can't do anything because they are older than 30 days. Yes, 6 weeks to be precise!!!! I questioned Mr price quality, and asked if Mr price only makes items to last 30 days, and she said YES! shocking to say the least. Discovery Vitality what do you have to say for yourself? I have had a cash back query outstanding since mid May, and have been told it would be sorted out 1 June. Well guess what, it is 6th june, and still nothing. Sheldon ref no 10367181648 has been ok with phone calls, Telling me sending to back office and escalating , BUT NOTHING GETS DONE. Cash back points outstanding from APRIL , just over 1900 miles, and may should be paid on 7 June! I AWAIT MY miles to be paid into my account For April and may????? Member closed his account before he left the country for good, yet discovery INSIST ON USING AN OLD CLOSED DISCOVERY BANK ACCOUNT! Email sent to them requesting to revert to old payment method, details still available to them, BUT OBVIOUSLY BECAUSE IT IS NOT A DISCOVERY BANK ACCOUNT, THEY CANT DO IT. Discovery bank account is CLOSED. Explanation as to why discovery will not allow a member of 10 years and more, to change from debit order to Monthly EFT????? Pathetic that they will only accept debit orders!!!! Discovery is a nightmare, and would not recommend them to anyone. Annoyingly ***********.
