My husband and I have been enjoying driving Mercedes-Benz cars for years. It took one miserable, irresponsible technician, service consultant to destroy that experience. More than just the experience, our car has been stationery after their ***** up. The beauty is that Mercedes-Benz Mbombela is not open to discuss and check the vehicle, the only thing they can show me is a job card. Really....... As if an error is not possible because they have a job card. Iam more disappointed in mercedes Benz South Africa. I've escalated the matter to them after many failed attempts to communicate with Mercedes-Benz Mbombela. NO ONE GIVES A DAMN...... Tell me what is your mandate if you cannot TRY and assist an aggrieved loyal client. We pay good money for this brand but the service I've received is not worth the money Ive paid. I feel ROBBED and INSULTED. Consumers are *****ed in all directions now and we seemingly have no recourse. These bodies are useless and toothless.
I took my car in for a routine service in early September 2019. When the car was taken in, it was 100% in good working condition. Over and above the normal routine service, I requested the service adviser to check the “stop start battery” to ensure full functionality. The same day in the afternoon in which, I got the car back, the car stopped almost 4x times in a 4km distance whereby it didn’t automatically re-start, which meant I had to restart it manually. I reported this the following day when the after service consultant phoned to check the level of satisfaction after my car was brought in to their workshop. I was asked to bring the car back, which I did after two weeks on the 19th September 2019. Nothing was done on the car on that day, and on the morning of day two upon enquiring, I was told that the car has two batteries and they must replace the other battery at cost of about R7k including diagnostic costs. I reluctantly agreed even though I felt I was not been prioritized. I was told the car will be ready around 10h00. I got to the dealer at around 10h30. The car was not ready. I was at the dealership until 12h30. The car was given to me around 12h30 and at the time Workshop Manager told me that their computer system was down therefore the car was not checked but I can take it. Few kilometers out of the workshop doors, the car started rattling/shaking. I immediately phoned the Workshop Manager to report this anomaly. I was told I can drive the car and bring it next week. The fuel consumption was abnormal and very high I took my car in at Mercedes Benz Sandton the following week after I told the Workshop Manager that I cannot drive the car back to their workshop. I actually told him that, I’m not sure of the impact of this abnormal idling (rattling). He agreed that I take the car to Mercedes Benz, Rivonia, Sandton. I left my car there and have since have had no reasonable response from Merc Mbombela as confirm that they have done nothing wrong. I escalated the matter to Merc South South Africa and they have had ZERO care. It’s January 2020 and no car. What is more disappointing is that we pay an arm and a leg for these cars and I'm shown the middle finger not only by Merc Mbombela but even worse, Mercedes Benz South Africa. Deeply aggrieved
