I bought a C200 AMG maroon on 20 June2024. Two weeks later I had issues with gears. They took it for repairs but never gave me a car in the interim to commute. After rapairs (Valve Body) ,I had another incident where the sunroof exploded while I was driving. I informed them & I was told to claim from my insurance. I believe the sunroof exploding is a factory fault. Now I'm stranded & they don't care about me.They made a sale now looks like I'm on my own. Poor customer service to say the least. I'm expecting them to cover me with curtacy car while the sunroof is being fix. I'm so disappointed.

I took my car in for a routine service in early September 2019. When the car was taken in, it was 100% in good working condition. Over and above the normal routine service, I requested the service adviser to check the “stop start battery” to ensure full functionality. The same day in the afternoon in which, I got the car back, the car stopped almost 4x times in a 4km distance whereby it didn’t automatically re-start, which meant I had to restart it manually. I reported this the following day when the after service consultant phoned to check the level of satisfaction after my car was brought in to their workshop. I was asked to bring the car back, which I did after two weeks on the 19th September 2019. Nothing was done on the car on that day, and on the morning of day two upon enquiring, I was told that the car has two batteries and they must replace the other battery at cost of about R7k including diagnostic costs. I reluctantly agreed even though I felt I was not been prioritized. I was told the car will be ready around 10h00. I got to the dealer at around 10h30. The car was not ready. I was at the dealership until 12h30. The car was given to me around 12h30 and at the time Workshop Manager told me that their computer system was down therefore the car was not checked but I can take it. Few kilometers out of the workshop doors, the car started rattling/shaking. I immediately phoned the Workshop Manager to report this anomaly. I was told I can drive the car and bring it next week. The fuel consumption was abnormal and very high I took my car in at Mercedes Benz Sandton the following week after I told the Workshop Manager that I cannot drive the car back to their workshop. I actually told him that, I’m not sure of the impact of this abnormal idling (rattling). He agreed that I take the car to Mercedes Benz, Rivonia, Sandton. I left my car there and have since have had no reasonable response from Merc Mbombela as confirm that they have done nothing wrong. I escalated the matter to Merc South South Africa and they have had ZERO care. It’s January 2020 and no car. What is more disappointing is that we pay an arm and a leg for these cars and I'm shown the middle finger not only by Merc Mbombela but even worse, Mercedes Benz South Africa. Deeply aggrieved

I have not experience such a bad service even after you send email after email but still you do not get what you asked for. I bought my car in October 2018 and my expectations was to be delivered a car first the car was not ready and delayed to pick me up as per their promise. Now the challenge I am still sitting with is to be given an understanding on service book and history. for the past 2 months I am writing to Thulani Sibiya in Inyanga @ Empangeni until today I have not received it. In my understanding as a paying customer I bought a car which all must be explained professionally and I have been asking about a service which I was never told anything about it and was told after I wrote to him that the car will tell me when its time to do service but I received a call from Inyanga and I was told they want to book my car for service when I am in Durban Pinetown to service a car in Empangeni really????

Owner of a mercedes benz glc, beware if you are purchasing one as Mercedes bENZ DOES NOT have spares in stock, I ordered the parts 3 weeks ago and spoke to the manager at Cargo m2 city and was promised the parts on the 31st July, only to find out today that I must still wait another week or more for the parts as it is not here from germany, I am currently using a hired car and this is costing me unneccasary money. we called mercedes benz customer care head office and they say they will take 4 days to get back to me to solve the problem. This service is unacceptable from a so called reputable company.

I have a two year old Mercedes CLA which I purchased brand new from Mercedes Umhlanga. In the last four years I have purchased three new vehicles from the dealership.

On Friday 24th March 2017 at 8.00am, I noticed a message that come on my car reading, coolant top up. Since I did not know what to do I drove to your Umhlanga dealership. They told me that they will top it up no problem. After they checked the vehicle they said it was losing pressure, so they had to keep it. I asked when they will check it ? They said the same day and get back to me. I asked for a loan vehicle and was told they don’t have any. It took about two hours before they got a driver to drop me off at work.

I had to call Mercedes numerous times that afternoon to check on the progress of my car. I was finally told by Tracey, my service advisor, that they did not have the time to even check my car so they will only do so on Monday. Again I was told there was no loan vehicle.

On Monday at 09.00am I saw on my tracker that my vehicle has not moved. I then called Tracey, I was told she had not checked on my car and will call me when she has news. Finally at 10.00am I saw my car been moved. Tracey then called me at 11.30am to tell that they have found the fault.

An O ring is gone and all have to be replaced. As they do not have the part, which will come on Tuesday, I will only get my car back on Wednesday! Again she has No Loan Cars!

Finally on Wednesday at 11.00am my car was ready. I was without a car for five days for a R30.00 O ring!

I cannot believe that I received such pathetic service from a brand like Mercedes.

The issues I have are listed below:

1. Poor communication –I had to continually telephone the dealership.

2. No loan car despite being without a car for five days.

3.How does it take 3 days to check a car thats under warranty??? If you don’t have enough staff get more!

I had to hire a car for five days, which cost me R1800.00,for Mercedes to repair a R30.00 O ring.

Mercedes is known to be the brand associated with luxury, class and convenience. This was not the case in my experience.I am totally disappointed from this experience as its not what i would expect from Mercedes Benz.

If you need more staff hire them but don’t tarnish the Mercedes brand by providing pathetic service.

No contact from Mercedes to deliver vehicle after service, no feedback on specific requests, no feedback from service, car service manuel was not completed, no mention of motor plan which should be extended. In the market for a new car - no sales offering. Avoid this dealership at all cost.

We have reported this matter to the ombudsman and McCarthy Head office but no response. Complaint is against the above mentioned company.

We would like closure on this matter as the supplier just thought that stating their side of the case will settle this. We have suffered a great loss in money and damage to the vehicle.

Please contact us as soon as possible regarding this matter.

Regards
