I am currently booked into Skukuza Safari Lodge, the lodge itself. Date is 19 July 2023. I checked into the hotel on 18 July 2023 for work purposes. When I got to reception, I was told that we will be offered an Ala' Carte menu as the hotel is not busy. When I got to dinner on 18 July 2023 around 19h00, the manager in charge, didn't get his name but he is a short, African male stated that they were only serving a buffet menu and were not cooking anything from the menu. There is a group booking from Mugana Lonene FM and when I got to the restaurant, the waitron asked me whether I was a part of the group and I was like what group are you on about. I stated that I'm not part of any ggroup.it was then that the manager intervenes and said I had to eat from the buffet. Today the 19th of July, I arrived at dinner around 19h40 and I went to enquire yet again about the Ala Carte menu. I was then told that I should eat from the buffet. When I got to the buffet, the group had already had their dinner and there was no food. I was told to wait as they would be bringing out food. I waited for 10 minutes until I was told that they will no longer be bringing out a buffet but instead they would serve me lamb chops with leftover rice and veggies from the buffet. When the food was brought to me, I told the waiter that I was not happy with his approach as he didn't even ask me whether I eat lamb chops or not, he just decided to dish up for me like a pauper. Nonetheless, I told the waiter that I wasn't happy but none the less I will eat. I had to also ask for gravy as the rice was cold and had no gravy. A couple of minutes later, patrons arrived and they were given menus to choose from for their meal. I was shocked and I requested to speak to the manager. I asked him why I was not offered the menu since the buffet was finished and he said I made you lamb chop. And I said I didn't ask for lamb chops why wasn't I offered the luxury of choosing my preferred food for myself. He then answered me very rudely and said did I not eat, do I want another plate of food of my choice. That to me was extremely rude and I told him I wasn't asking to be re fed but rather that I didn't appreciate his treatment as I viewed it as unfair. Then he stated that I shouldn't shout at him as ge had apologized. I then said, you can't tell me how to feel if I am upset your responsibility is to listen and not dictate my feelings towards himself. He then reiterated that I shouldn't shout at him because now all the patrons are looking at him and I said I don't care whether patrons are looking at you but they kust know that you do not understand customer service and before I can even articulate myself, you inject by downplaying my emotions and dictate how I should speak to him. I must say that I find this behavior from a manager as appalling to day the least. He kept on saying what do u want cause I've apologized. His arrogance towards me was out of this world. I am extremely upset with his lackluster apology which was forced down my throat and his undermining demeanor. I stated that I will report his treatment to his superiors and he told me to go ahead. That was extremely arrogant. My bone of contention was the appalling attitude and treatment. Is my money not good enough because it's from a black woman and white patrons get better treatment because their money is special? Hoping this will be rectified.
This past weekend, the 28th of May till 30 May 2021, 24 of my family members booked 4 houses at Ocean Villa in Umhlanga Rocks. Initially we were told that each house accommodates 8 people only to be told that only 6 people per house can be accommodated and the extra people were not allowed in thus we ended up booking 4 houses, unexpectedly. the houses were not all that impressive, old furniture, old bathrooms and very poor staff service, from the security personnel to the cleaners who were rude. Each house paid a deposit of R2000 and we were told that we would gwt our deposit back should we leave all as we found it. mind you, upon check.in, no one accompanied us to do a check.pf what was available. upon check out, we ensured that all that we found was intact glasses, plates etc. when we were meant to get our deposit, we were told that we had broken a total of 18 glasses in one house! we were shocked and very angry as they reduced our deposit by R370 for nothing. Upon check out, no one came to check on what we had broken and we know we didn't break not a single glass. This was under hands and daylight robbery. I am hugely irritated a s disappointed. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. they are thief and extremely unprofessional
Afternoon Forever resorts, your response is inaccurate? Which opportunities did you provide me to speak with Mr Fick? You told me to go look for him and he didn’t not come through or call me as a client! In the morning of my departure I requested to speak to him but to no avail? So please please clarify which opportunities you are referring to? Please provide proof of those attempts.
Hi I was greatly disappointed with the service we received from some staff at this resort. Our team visited the resort from 16/02/2020 to 19/02/2020 for work purposes. The resort is situated on very beautiful surroundings however the reception staff and some restaurant staff members were very rude and lacked customer service. The food at the restaurant was below sub standard and no apology was ever given even though we had numerous complaints. Furthermore, a complaint was made to their head office but no apology received from their head office nor from the hotel general manager. The concept of the customer is always right doesn't apply at this resort at all irregardless of who.kight be right or wrong. upon checkout, we requested to see the Hotel manager, Fanie Fick if I'm not mistaken but he made us wait for a while and we were running late. The staff has no etiquette at all and no apologies are ever given for poor service or misunderstandings. we were highly disappointed and vowed never to visit that resort ever again.
