I was contacted by a Call Centre advertising "CompEat" which is administered by Right Click Media. The number came through on my phone as "NuDebt" who are a debt collecting agency. It transpires that the same call centre works for both agencies. They evidently pass contact details from their debt collection department to their sales department without consent. NuDebt have been incorrectly chasing my company for a debt that is not owed. I have had tremendous hassle with NuDebt despite providing documentary evidence proving the situation. NuDebt have taken money from my account without legal right or consent. I asked the sales consultant why I would ever wish to purchase anything from the same Call Centre that is also hassling me for a non-existent debt collection. She agreed to take me off their list. I am considering whether I have any rights under POPI to pursue this matter.
Placed order on 16th March 2020 for face masks prior to Covid 19 lockdown. 6th April followed up as these are essential items. Advised delayed due to lockdown. Followed up. 28th April. Quote - "We are hoping (goods) will be released by the first of the coming month". 15th May (following month) - no response so requested a full refund. 20th May - no response. 4th June - requested response again and threatened legal action. 5th June. Quote. "Unfortunately, this shipment has not been shipped, we are hoping to get more feedback by next week Thursday." To date, no response. Throughout this period, no phone lines to Wantitall are operating. The message claims this is due to lockdown which does not make sense as Wantitall are an internet based company and 1000s of other companies without the same infrastructure as an internet based company have easily adjusted operations to work under restrictions i.e from home etc. Each time they respond to any complaint email, they promptly close the ticket as 'resolved' (automated message). This is infuriating. Wantitall appears to be a 'tin-pot' company trying to scam people into believing that they are the next 'Amazon' or 'Takealot'. Dont purchase from them if you want to be assured of receiving your goods!
