I have been a long time fan of Citroen, buying my car before they left the country the last time, and was very happy to see them come back. Up until this year I have had nothing but the best service and best experience with the car, and was happy to tell anyone about it. Unfortunately I ended up with Williams Hunt in Edenvale for my most recent service. This interaction has left me on the complete opposite side of the fence, I would actively campaign that no-one go to them for a service, and even though I still love Citroen cars I would never buy another one again, if it means I have to deal with this type of service. After making the booking, the car being 3 days out of service plan and having to have a recall part installed, I had to leave my car at the dealership over 3 (2 upfront and 1 later) days. Even though I had booked a month before, it was not possible to manage the process down to one day. The dealership also does not provide lifts, so just in this interaction I had run up a R1000 uber bill. Not a fantastic start. After installing the recall part, I started to hear a strange noise coming from my turbo. I reported this, and took the car back for a check. I then had to bring the car back for another time so a separate diagnostic could be done on it. I was told at this point the turbo would have to be replaced. Tracy was kind enough to start the process for a goodwill replacement. This meant that I now had to bring the car in for an additional diagnostic check and leave it at the dealership as it would have to be taken to the Glen for the check, which I did. After that one further diagnostic check was requested, this time I was able to wait at the dealership for just over an hour for the check to be run. In terms of a time frame we are now almost 2 months past the initial service. I ended up having to follow up with head office myself, because it took over 2 weeks to get back a result from the goodwill replacement application. They respond and say they will provide a 25% discount on the turbo replacement, it will cost me R 28 806.46. At this point I have had enough, and I take my car to High Tech Turbo. They take 30 min, open the bonnet of the car, immediately see that the clamp on my turbo outlet pipe is clearly loose. They replace the clamp and tighten it. The noise I have been hearing from the turbo immediately stops. Not only have I received terrible service from the dealership, but after 3 SEPARATE DIAGNOSTIC CHECKS Williams Hunt and Citroen were somehow unable to locate and repair a loose turbo outlet clamp, and were happy to charge me a ridiculous amount to replace a perfectly good turbo. Whether this is a sign of just complete incompetance, or malicious fraudulent actions taken on the part of individuals at the dealership, this is incredibly worrying. I would not recommend anyone deal with Williams Hunt Edenvale if they can avoid it in anyway possible.
Really happy with the car reviews on this website, they have a huge library, going back years, they are informative and entertaining, definitely helped me in making my decision when I was buying a new car.
Incredible sushi, reasonable prices, and service with a smile. Can't ask for much better than that, what a great place!
