I could not sleep for the 2 nights that I was there as it is extremely noisy. The bathrooms are old and dingy. Room is very small. I got an email from them thanking me for my review, which I did not do at all,so I decided to do a review on Hellopeter.
So after a month of paying a connection fee and the first months subscription,for no service and no internet connectivity I decided to cancel my contract with Afrihost. Today I finally got my cancellation notification, along with a hefty R1000 cancellation fee. Cancellation fees should only be due if you actually received a service. I would not recommend Afrihost to my worst enemy. I think Afrihost should get a MINUS 10 rating if you adk me. Any reputable company would have offered to refund my money,after admitting that there was a problem on their side,and still not being able to connect me. So this whole ordeal is going up to almost R4000 worth of robbery.
My first review on hellopeter was due to what I believed to be the incompetence of Afrihost as an internet ISP. It turns out that I was wrong though - they simply don't care about clients. Not only did I not receive any internet joy from them, since day 1 of my contract with them, they also refuse to "release" the line, so that my new ISP can connect their services for me. After a month of trying to get something out of Afrihost, I finally decide to call it "afri-ghost" and just move on, however, their bad service and unscrupulous business practices continue to haunt me. I guess that I will be forced to move to legal action and refer the matter to the ombud if I cannot get rid of them for "service not rendered". PS - my new ISP is a company called VOX. These guys have been helpful from the word go and have kept me informed, every step of the way -AND they offered me a better package than Afrighost.
Today I would like to complain about Afrihost. If you are considering them as your ISP of choice, please forget about it. I have paid them a total of R2600 (connection fee and subscription) and have not had a single moment of internet joy from them. This was really a total waste of money and of my time. Their client zone app works wonders-if you wish to cancel your subscription, but is not worth much for any real assistance. Their whatapp helpline responds after 7 to 24 hours, simply to be of no use at all.Logging complaints via email is also a total waste of time. I truly hope that at least one person who sees this review decides to walk away from Afrihost - at least my time and money would not be a total waste.
